The Shield & Sword Podcast

In Part 2 of “Dominion: The Missing Message”(a continuation of the “Gospel Guideposts Series”[G.G.S.]), Pastor Matney and Bro. Rich dive deeper into the significance of mankind being made in the image and likeness of God. God intended man to be holy and blameless in an unending relationship of love and trust. A very profound observation is presented of how Adam and Eve were more aware of the spiritual part of their being than even the physical, as evidenced by their reaction after they sinned. With all the implications concerning God’s plan of Redemption, you will find this episode edifying and enlightening!  “The Shield & Sword Podcast” is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this fourth and final part of the series("The Love of the Truth"), the topic of hinderances is further explained with an emphasis of how Satan, the father of lies, strategizes to infiltrate doctrine and belief systems. Sincere falsehood is not safe from harmful consequences. A shocking discovery of the kind of spirit/attitude behind the rejection of truth is also revealed. The right and wrong concepts of terminology like "tradition(s)" and "religion" are biblically differentiated. After the warning, the episode is concluded with a positive exhortation to continually renew our minds to the truth, which brings transformation in our lifestyle. In this episode, the hosts(Pastor Matney and Bro. Rich) begin discussing the uncomfortable but necessary responsibility of identifying hinderances to following the truth wherever it leads us. Each of us must maintain humility and honesty in our approach to understanding God's Word. There are many obstacles to objectivity in our interpretation of the Bible. Christians recognize that in order for a sinner to be saved, the sinner must be willing to admit wrong/error, repent, and receive the change that Christ brings. All of this is expected of the sinner when he/she is confronted with the light of God's truth. As Christians, it is needful to ask ourselves: "How do I respond when further light of the Word shines on my path? Am I as willing to admit error and adjust my beliefs/practice?" After all, we are called to "walk in the light as He is in the light" which implies a lifestyle of forward movement/progress in our spiritual growth and maturity.  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this second part of the series, Pastor Matney and Bro. Rich dig into what the Bible itself says about truth, such as God being the Source of truth, His Word being the standard, and the Son being truth personified in a man. This being the case, our only reasonable and appropriate response is to both love and seek after truth supremely. God's truth sets us free, sanctifies, and safeguards us both in this present world and for all eternity.  "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.

In this inaugural episode, Pastor Travis Matney of New Life Holiness Church in Lake Placid, FL and Missionary/Evangelist Derek Rich begin with the most foundational of all choices that we must make: Settle in our hearts that the Bible is the Word of God and thus, the First and Final Authority for knowing truth. Themes such as the Uniqueness of the Bible, the Written Word and Uniqueness of Jesus Christ, as well as the Word Made Flesh are covered. This includes a profound observation of how Christ endorsed the Old and New Testament Scriptures, thereby confirming the Bible as the inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God. The discussion concludes with the continuing confirmation of our experiencing God through the Scriptures, which is the purpose for which His Word was given to us.   "The Shield & Sword Podcast" is a Ministry of the FULL GOSPEL FAITH MINISTRIES.
