The Skol Hop

Evan brought the beer this week, and he picked intentionally for Austin. Austin’s definitely lightened up a bit since the Vikings win over the Bucs in week 3. We couldn’t not talk about the McCarthy trade and how that affects the Vikings franchise. Austin also had to spin the wheel because he picked the Vikings to lose to the Bucs. Lastly, we looked ahead to Week 4 action against the Dolphins. We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! It was fun to have Friend of the Show Forrest the Bears fan back on the show as we talked about the sloppy game between the Vikings and Bears in Week 2! The Vikings won, which means that we had to spin the Wheel of Purple Punishments (we both picked the Vikings to lose the game). As it turns out, Forrest got to enact some revenge for the Bears loss! We also had Backpocket’s Hawktoberfest beer, one we haven’t had on the show since episode 7! We gave our thoughts on the Vikings win over the Bears, and looked ahead to week 3!We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! Will the Vikings be able to sustain the amount of success they had against the Packers for the entire season? Is this defense elite? What will happen with the quarterback situation? All these questions and more are covered as we dive deep into the Week 1 victory over the Packers. We also had a great beer, “Cuttin Grasses” from Dimensional, that hit the spot. Finally, we took a look at the Week 2 road trip to Chicago. We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! We’re pretty pumped about a few things in this episode! First, Harrison Smith, the Hitman, is back for season 15 in purple. We couldn’t help ourselves but to share our thoughts and feelings on the proverbial future hall-of-famer. We also looked at the updates to the Vikings roster and the captains that were named for the 2026 season. We even made a bet about the QB! Then we previewed Week 1 vs. the Packers. It wouldn’t be an episode of The Skol Hop if we didn’t discuss the Vikings QB situation, would it? Of course that dominated our discussion, especially after the 53-man roster was just announced for the 2026 season. We talked about some other things too, but mostly the QB stuff. We also tried a great beer from Big Grove called Silo, and it hit the spot!We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! With a Field Day Czech Style Amber Lager in hand (which was great, by the way!), we got into the second preseason game of the Vikings 2026-27 campaign. It was a yawner. We spent way too much time arguing about who would end up being the QB2, Carson Wentz or JJ McCarthy. Only time will tell! What’s probably more interesting is our discussion over the 53-man prediction we made several episodes ago (Ep. 147). We went back to those selections and gave our updated thoughts as we near the end of training camp and roster cutdown day. We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! Vikings 1st Pre-Season Game Recap, A Collab Beer, and Purple Punishments Reveal | TSH Ep. 151We tried a great collaborative beer from several different Quad City-area breweries called Brewed Together! We also discussed the ins and outs of the Vikings first pre-season game of the 26/27 season. A few things stood out, especially that defense! *GASP* Austin had to take off his “9” jersey! If you know, you know. We spent a little time talking about the Vikings newly announced QB1 before we went full-steam ahead picking games for the 2026 season. These picks will be the basis for the Purple Punishments segment, so be sure to follow along! Oh yeah, we also had a really good beer from Alluvial Brewing, their Las Tumbagas NEIPA. Austin brought, perhaps, the most unique beer we’ve ever tried (and actually liked) on the show. It was Adventurous Brewing’s Avventuroso, and it was pretty great! Of course we had to talk about the Vikings QB situation (what else is there to talk about during training camp?). We dissected an interview of KOC where he discussed his role in drafting JJ McCarthy. Lastly, with the news of Zay Flowers’ big extension, we discussed the status of Jordan Addison and his future contracts/future with the team.       We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us!
