As a continuation of The Social Worker Spotlight Series, the host interviews Shaina, a licensed clinical social worker in California. A social worker for 18 years, specializing in individuals, families and the LGBTQ community. Paula, a licensed social worker from my hometown of The Bronx aka Wakanda. She provides coaching to community based organizations and individuals in The Bronx. She has worked with educators, women of color to enrich and enhance their relationships. She has also provided morale workshops for community based organizations. As a continuation of the series #TheSocialWorkerSpotlightSeries, had the pleasure of interviewing Ella McAllister, LCSW, LCADC a clinical social worker who also does work regarding substance use/addiction in the state of New Jersey. We discuss how COVID has impacted her private practice; her work in addiction treatment, adjusting to doing tele-therapy and discusses the particular platform she uses for treatment (it's not zoom). She hosts events for children in her community in Queens, NY. We discuss how she set up her LLC. We also talk about the struggles she faces providing client services through zoom, finding ways to be creative to engage with her clients.

Former Fordham University Graduate school of Social Work Professor Dr. Edgar Tyson, Ph. D was the founder and creator of Hip Hop therapy. Brittani discussed using Hip Hop therapy in her sessions with her clients. Kyla and I worked together in a PACE program in Harlem, NY, USA during the height of NYC's covid crisis. We discuss dealing with the loss of our mutual clients. How she handled the trauma.
