    Grove Hill—A countywide bottled water drive is underway to support local volunteer fire departments, ensuring they have the needed hydration to respond to emergencies.   • Child dies after car accident last week

    Atmore—A 2-year-old child who was injured last month in a crash near Atmore died on March 1, according to Alabama State Troopers. The child was a passenger in a 2015 Cadillac SRX driven by Brittany N. Colley, 38, of Mobile when it collided head-on with a 2017 Chrysler Pacifica driven by Sarah E. Janes, 31, of Atmore, at approximately 9:10 p.m. on Feb. 25. The child was transported to a local hospital but died four days later, troopers said. Colley and Janes were also injured in the crash.
