June 22, 2016 Body Glove Camp Surf with Tommy Ostendorf
Our guest this morning is Tommy Ostendorf, Managing Director for Body Glove Campsurf.
Competitive Longboarder and top Shortboarder from Manhattan Beach, Tommy learned to surf in Manhattan Beach at age 10, started competing at age 12, and began teaching with Campsurf at 13. In 2005 Tommy was the National Collegiate Longboard Champion and California State Champion. He finished Top 10 overall in the 2002 Professional Surfing Tour of America. Tommy graduated from the University of San Diego with a degree in Business Administration where he was Captain of the Surf Team for three of his four years. Recently, he worked as a boatman and lifeguard at the famous island surf resort of Tavarua. His Surf travels include Hawaii, Bali, the Mentawai Islands, the Bahamas, Baja California, Mainland Mexico, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, France, Portugal, Spain, Florida, and Virginia. He has competed in several professional competitions with the world’s top longboard surfers. Tommy’s been with Body Glove from the beginning and is a fluid surfer in and out of the water.
This morning, we’re going to learn what Body Glove has on tap this summer.

June 17, 2016 White Light White Night Kick Off Event
Our guests this morning are Page Sacks and Danielle Aiello from Walk With Sally.
Page Sacks is a Southern California native who has spent her recent years working in the Public Relations field for a boutique entertainment PR firm in West Hollywood. While working with television and film actors, Page also spent her time volunteering for her national sorority, Tri Delta, where she cultivated her skills of working with volunteers and further developed her love for philanthropy. She brings with her a personal connection to cancer and an eagerness to give back to children whose families have been affected by the disease. Page will now be spearheading Walk With Sally special events and all marketing activities.
Danielle Aiello is Director of Customer Experience for Boingo Wireless. She is responsible for driving key value metrics, setting appropriate performance goals, and managing overall customer service team performance to deliver continuous world-class customer care. Danielle brings nearly 20 years of experience in customer experience and consumer marketing to her role at Boingo, including positions at Sunshine Retirement Living, MySpace, Time Warner Cable, The Economist, Harper’s Magazine, and Lang Communications. Danielle has a BA in Communication from Stonehill College. She is also a dedicated mentor, volunteer, spokesperson and Advisory Board member supporting local non-profit children’s organization, Walk With Sally since 2009.
This morning, we’re going to learn about the upcoming White Light White Night Kick Off Event on Thursday, June 23 at The Point in El Segundo which is happening in partnership with the Grand Opening of Kendra Scott.

As a marketing and product management executive, Raid has honed his ability to define and drive marketing strategies and tactics. His background includes more than 20 years of experience worldwide in the telecommunications and high-tech industries, with demonstrated skill and expertise in market strategy, product positioning, marketing mix optimization, lead generation and product management. He has managed marketing budgets and advertising for the companies he consults, as well as product and retail store marketing. He has also created his own companies, including Harvard International Marketing Group and CA Plus Telecom, which he built into a major market contender and later sold for $400 Million to Carlos Slim, a Telecom guru. He currently serves as the CEO of Sababa Partners, Inc. a complete management team of creative partners.
This morning, Raid is going to fill us in on Zayna’s Flaming Grill, a local restaurant that was featured on Chef Gordon Ramsey’s television show, Kitchen Nightmares, in 2014. It is one of the few featured restaurants that remains open.

Our guest this morning is Lauren Perelmuter, Founder and President of Art to Grow On Children’s Art Center.
Lauren has been dedicated to, and deeply involved in, the arts and art education for over 25 years. She has earned degrees in Fine Art and Textile Design from Otis Art Institute, Parsons School of Design, University of Paris, France and University of California Santa Barbara. In 2000, she combined her business experience in management, sales and program development with her talents and passion for art to launch Art To Grow On Children’s Art Center.
Art To Grow On Children’s Art Center, Inc., brings Art Enrichment Programs, Products and Services to children ages 18 months to 18 years old, along with adults.
Under Lauren’s leadership, Art To Grow On was chosen as the 2013 Star Award recipient by the Torrance Cultural Arts Foundation and by LA Parent Magazine as the Best of Kids Art Programs 2012.
Lauren believes the act of “creating” gives children Life Essential Skills. She says, “Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Independent Learning, Collaboration, and Communication, are skills this generation must embrace and refine, not only to thrive but to contribute as global citizens and become optimal thinkers.
This morning, we’re going to learn about the various programs Art to Grow On offers in addition to summer camps through the City of Manhattan Beach.

Our guests this morning are Michael Schreiber, owner of South Bay Customs and Neal Von Flue, one of the featured artists at this year’s El Segundo Art Walk (ESAW).
Michael Schreiber was born in Santa Monica, raised in Redondo Beach and moved to El Segundo about 10 years ago.
The space in south Redondo where SBC started wasn’t working anymore and a friend had some warehouse space to sub-lease, so he jumped on the opportunity to move to El Segundo in 2008. SBC also works with the music industry on video and photo shoots, record release parties and live music recording.
Neal Von Flue is an artist, educator and musician from El Segundo. He plays banjo and musical saw in the acoustic duo Sanguine and Shiny. You can learn more about his work at www.nealvonflue.com.
This morning, we’re going to learn about this year’s El Segundo Art Walk and I’m making a prediction right now that it’s going to be the most talked about event of the summer.
