Self love is one of the most beautiful things we can give ourselves - but in a world that is often telling us that we are not enough, it can be really challenging. So this week, I am sharing with you 6 acts that you can start doing now to bring some self love into your life on a regular basis.
These acts of self love are perfect for moms - not too time consuming and easy enough to add into an already busy day, but still completely impactful. And you can even get your kids involved, helping them develop the skills to practice self love alongside you. That is powerful.

This week I am joined by Cycle Syncing Coach and mom of two Briana Villegas for an enlightening conversation on how to work with our menstrual cycles instead of fighting against them. This is a conversation I knew very little about to begin with, and I hope you find it as educational and inspiring as I did.
In this episode, Briana and I talk about:
A little about our guest:
Briana Villegas is a cycle syncing coach who is on a mission to bring the conversation around periods out of the menstrual health niche into our everyday. She believes that our cycles and our hormones affect so much more than fertility and periods! Whether you are an entrepreneur, climbing the corporate ladder, running a household, or all of the above — when you align your to-do list(s) with your cycle everything gets easier. Briana helps her clients ditch the pressure to be the same everyday and to give themselves permission to live cyclically in a society that wasn't built for it.

This week, I'm doubling-down on my belief that you are "good enough" in your role as a mother - and explaining why I choose to use that language. I've seen the argument out there that we shouldn't tell moms that they are "enough" because it can be perceived as meaning they are "just enough." And while I understand the sentiment of that stance, I'm standing firm behind my belief that each and every one of us is enough.
I talk about what it means to be enough, how desire for growth and acceptance of where you're currently at can co-exisit, and why it's important to use language that challenges problematic norms when it comes to making the world a better place for us all.
And the biggest takeaway: You are enough.

This week I am joined by Mindfulness Practitioner Megan Wolfe for a conversation on mindfulness - what exactly it is, why it benefits moms, and how we start to practice mindfulness today. We all feel overwhelmed and stressed out sometimes, but when we learn the tools to manage those often all-consuming feelings and begin to be more present in the moment, we can start to feel lighter in the day-to-day. And if you're anything like me, that is always a welcome transformation!
In this episode, Megan and I talk about:

Right around this time every year, we are inundated with messages about committing to resolutions and starting the new year off on the right foot. And while I'm not one to make set lofty goals just because the year is changing, I do find that this transition from one year to the next is a fantastic time to check in with ourselves and set our intentions for the time ahead of us.
In this episode, I discuss why I chose to use the new year as a time to set my own intentions, what my process looks like, and even what word I have chosen as a guiding light of sorts for 2023.
Maybe my process is something you'll want to try. Maybe not. Either way, this episode is a reminder to slow down and check in with yourself, amidst what is likely a busy season of life.

I've got a short and sassy conversation for you this week all about what I want for Christmas. And no, I will not be reading my Amazon wishlist. Instead, I share (and rant a bit) about four things that I would like for all of us this Christmas.
While this episode is presented in a sort of silly way, and I don't offer much in terms of real solutions, I really do stand by making the world a better place for mothers (and in turn everyone else) through conversations about the change we should be aiming for. That's what this podcast is all about.
I want to wish you all a happy holiday season, and thank you for tuning in week after week. If you found this episode valuable, share it with other moms in your life! It's December, and for many of us that means that there is a lot going on. Societal expectations of moms are high all year long, but around the holidays, these expectations take on a whole new meaning. As mothers, we can feel the pressure to create pure holiday magic for our children, and keep everyone happy by being three places at once in those important holiday moments.
But here's the thing: Doing the holiday things has very little do to with our jobs as mothers, and no one can make anyone else happy. Plain and simple.
So in this week's episode of The Worthy Mother Podcast, I am talking all about giving ourselves grace around the holidays - why it's so important and how we can start to do it. My hope is that you will walk away from this episode with a little more self-compassion, and a whole lot more understanding of how ridiculous it is that we equate decorating for Christmas with being a good mom.
