Did you know that your mindset can play a role in how much or how little you can accomplish in a day? When you are tackling your day from a scarcity mindset, it brings you in a downward spiral that prevents you from leveling up. In this episode of the Spiral Up podcast, I’m going to share why this happens and how you can tackle it going forward.

Have you ever thought, “I just don’t have enough time”? Or “there just aren’t enough hours in the day”? Did you know that if you tell your brain these thoughts, your brain will seek out justification in the world that supports your thoughts? What if you changed your daily thoughts around time so that your brain could instead find evidence to support thoughts like, “I have an abundance of time today”?

Work-life balance can be nearly impossible if you don’t learn to tackle effective time management. Prioritization and planning with intention is key to scaling your business and seeing the impact you desire. In this episode of the Spiral Up podcast, I’m going to share practical ways to master your time through proper prioritization. 

As a woman entrepreneur, many things compete for my time and attention. Before I know it, the day, week, month, quarter and year have gotten away from me and I haven’t accomplished the goals I’d set for myself. 

It all begins with recognizing what those goals are and establishing the three bold steps that will likely lead to the attainment of that goal. Those three steps can be broken down into key activities that will likely lead to the outcome you desire. 

Once you know those key strategies, each small task and calendar event can be gauged against it. This allows you to see what three tasks should remain a priority during your week and which ones you could delegate or postpone. 

Assessing each task within the Eisenhower Box will also help you to not only know what you should prioritize, but what simply needs to be scheduled, delegated, or deleted. Familiarizing yourself with this framework will also help you make decisions about what you say “yes” to in the first place. 

Don’t underestimate the momentum and energy that you can get from doing a small, impactful task. Let that energy carry you into the effective accomplishment of the rest of your priority to-dos! Listen for more tips, learn to prioritize and watch your life change.

An out of control to-do list and endless calendar obligations can make you feel completely overwhelmed. Overwhelm certainly doesn't help with forward momentum in your business and if left unchecked, can stall your progress or even cause you to spiral down and backwards. Who has time for that? It's time to overcome the overwhelm!

In this episode of the Spiral Up podcast, I get real about how those items made it on your to-do list and calendar in the first place. Let me ask you this. What motivated you to say "yes" to that thing? Was it because you would genuinely love to do it (or the outcome it could lead to) or is fear something nudging you into action?

Fear of disappointing others, people-pleasing, and fear of being left out are common reasons we say yes to things that we don't necessarily want to do. Is lack motivating you? Do you fear that not doing it will ensure that you'll miss out on that one sale, you'll miss the one action that will change everything, or you won't have enough if you don't do it? Making decisions and adding things to our calendar and to-do list out of fear, instead of love, will lead to a busy, joy-sucking list and overwhelm.

What if you started filtering what you add through this lens? What would your life look like? Listen for more tips on what to do with those activities that don't bring you joy. You'll also hear how the simple act of saying yes due to fear and resentment can reduce your chances of success simply by the energy it brings.
