The Sports Bubble has discussions with the talented people having fantastic experiences and doing amazing things in the sports industry.
In this episode, we continue our 'Sport Student Series' where we have discussions with recent graduates and current students. We are joined by university graduate and up and coming sport scientist Vanessa Issa. Vanessa graduated with a bachelor of sport science and sports management at the end of 2019 and has since forged a path in the high-performance sector of the sports industry. She is currently involved at the Oakleigh Chargers as a Strength and Conditioning Coach for the U19 Men’s squad and High-Performance Manager of the premiership-winning U19 Women’s. This year, Vanessa has also added to that, High-Performance Coordinator of the U17 and U19 Vic Metro Girls teams and is looking to start her own PT business.
We Discuss the hoops you jump through to be a qualified sport scientist, if she had her time again what she would do differently during university, how she has found working within the high-performance space at the Oakleigh Chargers and her contributions to a premiership-winning side.
