The SportsGrid Fantasy Football Show

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the program looking back at the domination of the Bears' defense against the Seahawks. Some of the question that linger from last night's game include the play of the Seahawks' offensive line, the emergence of Rashad Penny and if the Bears will have to rely on their defense to keep them in games. Looking at some early waiver wires, the guys wonder if Darren Sproles is worth any FAAB value. Scott tells a caller who is looking for value DeSean Jackson that you need to sell him now, because his value not be higher. Looking at some wide receivers to pick off the waiver wire, Dane thinks Tyler Boyd has some Fantasy relevancy, and Scott calls him a great possession receiver.

Scott Engel and Dane Martinez open the program looking at all the action from Sunday. The guys love Blake Bortles going off against the Patriots, but also caution not to start thinking of him as a starter in your fantasy lineups. The guys were impressed with Kenny Golladay and Kerryon Johnson, but also wonder if Matt Patricia is the right man for the job in Detroit. The release of Josh Gordon has the guys questioning if kicker Zane Gonzalez will follow his footsteps, and also when Baker Mayfield will take the snaps in Cleveland; also, the guys question which team will take a chance on Gordon. In Indianapolis, the guys wonder if Eric Ebron has taken over the top tight end spot from Jack Doyle.

In three minutes, Scott Engel and Dane Martinez tell you that there may be a QB controversy in Tampa Bay, the Rams are a true fantasy heard and the Ravens are a lesser version of the Rams' fantasy herd.

Scott Engel and Dane Martinez finish the week recapping last night's Ravens-Bengals game, and how the Bengals and Ravens look very much like fantasy herds. While Joe Mixon had a solid game, the guys question if there should be concern for Alex Collins. Dane and Scott like the play of Tyler Boyd, thinking he could be a solid waiver pickup, but John Ross has the better upside. Dane asks Scott if it is better to take a chance on a boom or bust play, like John Ross, over the safe ceiling play, like Tyler Boyd. Virginia Zakas of Inside Injuries joins the show to give injury updates on Aaron Rodgers' knee, Rex Burkhead going through concussion protocol and Doug Baldwin's knees (yes, both knees). Scott explains why he doesn't look at live scoring until 8pm Sunday, how to make proper trades, and how David Wright has had a huge impact on his professional, and personal, life.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the program looking at some of the latest news and injury notes as we head in to the first game of Week 2 tonight. Dane tries to make excuses for the Titans, citing bad weather, bad special teams, and Marcus Mariota getting injured; Scott thinks it's not an excuse, and Tennessee is not that great. Talking about the injury to Leonard Fournette, the guys question the fantasy value for his handcuff, TJ Yeldon. Dane questions if Scott is fogged by his love for the Seahawks by ranking Russell Wilson as the top fantasy QB this week, and Scott defends his pick, saying Wilson has a great matchup against a weaker secondary in Chicago.

Scott Engel and Dane Martinez open the show looking at players they are worried about, including Ravens RB Alex Collins, and Raiders WR Amari Cooper. Dez Bryant buzz has been plentiful, and the guys question if the Raiders could use another wideout after re-signing Martavis Bryant; Scott thinks the Doug Bladwin injury opens up a slot for Dez. Players Dane and Scott like heading in to Week 2 include Kerryon Johnson, who could be apart of a time share with Theo Riddick, now that LeGarrette Blount is injured. Dane thinks the Eagles will go with Nick Foles under center in Week 2, citing no reason to rush back Carson Wentz; Scott thinks this could be a decoy, and that Wentz could be ready to go. Looking at a trade proposal, the guys question what they would try to give up, or ask for, when it comes to Christian McCaffrey.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the program overreacting to a big win from the Jets over the Lions, and think guys like Robby Anderson and Kenny Golladay are players to start looking at as good value at wide receiver. The guys look at some overreactions, including whether or not to look at selling David Johnson. The guys look at the tight end situation, and look for replacement value in guys like Delanie Walker (out for season) and Greg Olsen (Panthers too quiet on his injury). Look ahead to Week 2, the guys look at some waiver wire pickups, including Tyler Lockett and Geronimo Allison. Mike Blewitt joins the show to brag about having the highest-scoring team in the Carton and Friends league.

Dane Martinez and Scott Engel open the program look back at the wild Week 1, where we saw Aaron Rodgers come "off the cart," Dion Lewis proved to be the top back in Tennessee and Ryan Fitzpatrick and Kenny Stills were great DFS plays. The guys look at the tie game between the Browns and Steelers,  questioning not only if we saw the best from Tyrod Taylor, but if Le'Veon Bell has lost his leverage after seeing James Conner have a great game.

In 3 minutes, Dane Martinez and Scott Engel teach you that Kenny Still is a solid best ball and DFS play for Week 1, and when it comes to Le'Veon Bell, you just can't tell what will happen until the 11th hour, and hope you have James Conner.

Scott Engel and Dane Martinez open the show recapping the Eagles' ugly win over the Falcons. Some of the big stories include the play of Nick Foles and Jay Ajayi, and the target volume of Julio Jones. Dr. A of Inside Injuries joins the show to talk about some of the latest injury updates, including the Giants' biggest weapons, Saquon Barkley (leg) and Evan Engram (concussion), as well as what volume Marshawn Lynch will get with his groin injury. Scott and Dane make their Week 1 survivor pool picks, with both picking the Titans over the Dolphins.
