Ep #202: How to Stop Being Nervous Around People in Authority
So many women leaders struggle when they’re face-to-face with a person in authority. You may have experienced this before. The anxious, bumbling, blood-pressure-spiking feeling you get when in the presence of a high-level leader – even when you’re just having a regular conversation and even if that leader happens to be the nicest person in the world. If you’re struggling with this, you’re not alone. I’ve literally been dealing with this issue for my entire life. I’ve investigated it. I’ve worked on it. And the good news is, I've come up with some tools to help myself (and you) deal with it. So on this episode of Women Changing Leadership with Stacy Mayer, I’m pulling back the curtain on my longstanding trouble with being in the presence of people in authority AND I’m offering some really simple, easier-to-follow advice that will help you have interactions and conversations with people in authority that don’t just feel less stressful, but actually feel really good.

Ep #201: 2 Truths and a Lie About Executive-Level Promotions
Which one of these statements is a lie? To get an executive-level promotion, you should focus your energy on: 1. Owning that you are an executive leader already, 2. Becoming an amazing subject matter expert, 3. Being more visible to the leadership team. These questions come from a game of ‘2 Truths and a Lie’ that I played recently during a free workshop with my community. (And in case you were wondering, the answers are: Truth, Lie and Truth.) But what really surprised me during this workshop, was how many of the corporate badasses in attendance were totally nailing their answers to these questions. But…there were 3 truth or lie questions that were a little more controversial and less clear cut – and I’m doing a deep dive into all 3 of them in this episode of Women Changing Leadership with Stacy Mayer!

Ep #200: Celebrating My Nonlinear Career Path
Welcome to the 200th episode of Women Changing Leadership!!!! 🥳🎉🎉🎉 In celebration of this major milestone, I want to talk about the power of nonlinear career paths. I want to celebrate and share my own nonlinear career path from working as an improv performer in New York City to becoming a Promotion Strategist, Executive Coach and podcast host helping badass women leaders get promoted to the executive suite. And I also want to celebrate your nonlinear career path as well. Because, if you’re like most corporate badasses I work with, you didn’t dream of advancing to the executive suite at the start of your career, right? And this is why the executive suite can feel so out of reach sometimes. Not because you’re not qualified (you 100% are)...but because you just don’t identify as an executive leader. Yet. So in this episode of Women Changing Leadership with Stacy Mayer, I’m sharing the three pivotal points in my career and life that helped me become who I am today so you can learn from them as well and apply these lessons to your career.

Ep #199: Build Your Wealth with Tess Waresmith
You’re probably going to be doing fine financially when you retire, right? But…what possibilities would open up for you if you were expanding your wealth outside of work? How would this change your ability to retire early, leave a toxic job, take a break from the workforce, or spend more time with your kids? Sounds good, right? I’ve invited Tess Waresmith onto this episode of Women Changing Leadership with Stacy Mayer to show you how. Tess is a financial coach who went from losing 80K in bad investments in her twenties…to building her network to 1 million as a single 35-year-old woman. And in this episode of Women Changing Leadership with Stacy Mayer, Tess shares the super simple investing strategies you can use to create more abundance and freedom in your life.

Ep #198: The Secret to Career Happiness
Big, exciting changes in your career can bring a whole bunch of happiness into your life…temporarily. You’ve experienced this cycle before. Over time, we go from being incredibly happy about a new role, a new organization, a new team…only for the work to eventually feel like, well…work. Here’s the problem: Working for an organization is never going to be enough to create long-term, meaningful happiness for you. So what will? Teaching. But not necessarily in the way you’d expect. In this episode of Women Changing Leadership with Stacy Mayer, I’m going to show you how sharing what you're currently learning, the challenges you've overcome, and the leadership principles you stand for will help you create lasting happiness for yourself.

Ep #197: How to Create More Meaning in Your Career
Let’s be real. Even when we’re showing up as our most strategic, powerful, corporate badass selves…our work can still feel a little empty sometimes, right? I’ve had women come to one of my coaching calls in tears because they just realized they’ve spent years pouring their heart and soul into a career they didn’t love…only to be completely thriving and fulfilled a few months later. The difference? Meaning and purpose. In this episode of Women Changing Leadership with Stacy Mayer, I’ll share two ways my clients and I have created a tremendous amount of meaning and purpose in our careers.

Ep #196: Your Next Promotion is NOT About You
Recently, a lot of corporate women leaders have been telling me that they’re tired of pushing so hard for their next promotion. And my question to them was: Why? Why wouldn’t they want to keep going? Why wouldn’t they want to do hard things?
And then I realized the reason: They think their next promotion is all about them. But when you can let go of the belief that your next promotion is all about you and own that you can be the change you want to see at your organization once you get yourself promoted to a position of power and influence – then you are going to feel so much more motivated to get the title you deserve. Your promotion matters. And in this episode of Women Changing Leadership with Stacy Mayer, I’m going to show you how to do it in a way that benefits everyone.
