With a crowded field of candidates jumping into the recall expected, some candidates are already looking to set themselves apart. Caitlyn Jenner released a new campaign ad while John Cox brought a highly unusual campaign mascot along for the ride. It comes as Democrats debate the best strategy for defense against the recall.

California’s Democratic leaders met virtually this past weekend for the party’s annual convention. The more subdued affair featured mostly pre-taped remarks from a number of officials, including Governor Gavin Newsom and Vice President Kamala Harris.

It’s been a busy week in politics, but at the national level as well as here in California. Of course the recall of Governor Newsom looks to have qualified for the ballot and Caitlyn Jenner entered the race. At the national level, President Joe Biden laid out his vision in his first address to a joint session of Congress.

Last night, President Joe Biden gave an address to a Joint Session of Congress upon the occasion of 100 days in office. The speech was an expansive, activist view of government and proposals that included several new initiatives by the Administration.  

The President looked to build on the political capital built through a successful vaccine rollout and economic stimulus put forth a nearly two trillion dollar family aid proposal.
