Efforts to blunt or alter the qualification of the recall of Governor Gavin Newsom have begun with a new committee calling for voters who signed the recall petition to remove their names.

Vice President Kamala Harris was in Oakland, her first trip back to her hometown since being elected Vice President, and the VP was here to push for passing a major infrastructure bill while also drawing attention to issues of social justice.

The CDC this week extended the eviction moratorium until the end of June. Like employment, housing has been of the main economic repercussions of the pandemic. It comes on top of many parts of the state seeing an increase in homelessness.

President Joe Biden this week unveiled his 2 trillion dollar infrastructure package. It’s the first step in what’s expected to be a months-long negotiation with Congress to reach a final deal. The package includes billions of dollars for manufacturing, housing, and transportation - all with implications and benefits for California.

A busy day for Governor Newsom as he travels to the Central Valley to greet first lady Dr. Jill Biden and visit with farm workers. It comes as a new poll shows the majority of Californians support the Governor in the event of a recall election.
