Today Matt, solo, talks about the death of Elijah McClain and the recent reopening of the investigation of his death, which was preceded by the Aurora CO Police choking him out and a paramedic administering 500mg of Ketamine, an anesthetic dose.  Matt talks about McClain's death and  the use of Ketamine in general in emergency medicine, and the special challenging ethical questions it poses for lovers of individual sovereignty and liberty.

Matt also talks about the recent "report" that made it into a NY Times story about Russia paying bounty money to the Taliban.  A person familiar with the matter claimed it was pathetic garbage.  IF true, this would be just another piece of journalistic malpractice from the failing New York Times.

Matt brings on friend of the show Pat Watson from Uncensored Tactical to discuss the biggest problem plaguing Americans today.  It's not thieving, corrupt government.  It's not bloodsucking corporations.  It's not the police state, or tech censorship, nor is it the Fed.  These are all HUGE problems, to be sure, but they all stem from one thing.  A failure of leadership, on the personal level.

What is personal leadership?  It's taking personal responsibility for your own life, and instead of asking "Why won't somebody fix X" or "It's X person's fault", the self-leader asks "What can I do to overcome this problem?"

This country was intended to be ran by people who were leaders in their own lives.  "Self-government", as the founders envisioned, requires self-leadership. We, the individual people, were supposed to be the sentinels of our liberties.  However, Americans have abdicated that responsibility, and instead have decided to follow false leaders, like politicians and celebrities.  Matt and Pat discuss some of the ways that has manifested itself, like in parenting and college debt.  Matt also talks some about his personal story, which is both a story of colossal failure of personal leadership and a story of an individual deciding once again to be a leader in his own life.

 On this episode, we are talking about a subject Matt has wanted to cover since the day we started this podcast.  The assault on the USS Liberty and the subsequent cover-up by the Lyndon B. Johnson administration.  It was attacked by the Israeli Air Force and Israeli Navy while off the coast of the Gaza Strip, monitoring radio traffic from the Egyptian military.  A total of 34 personnel were killed and 170 were injured.  Heroic damage control efforts by the crew stopped the Liberty from sinking.  It is the most decorated Navy ship for a single action in US history, yet her story is largely untold and unknown.  The Pentagon brass swept the whole incident under the rug; they forced the crew to keep their mouths shut about their ordeal, under threat of court-martial.

This is our humble attempt to do their story justice, and also to use it as an object lesson in how America treats those who fight its wars.Matt rants on history and statues for a few minutes in the beginning, and then we share the story of the day that Israel attacked the United States.

Matt is joined today by his friend Jordan from the Veterans for Voluntarism podcast and they are discussing the a book by Jim Fredrick, the excellent Black Hearts, which chronicles the 2005-2006 deployment of 1-502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division.

One of the most well known atrocities of Iraq War II is the Mahmudiyah massacre committed in March of 2006, in the Triangle of Death south of Baghdad. 

Stretched thin, taking very heavy casualties and in contact every single day, four Soldiers of 1-502nd Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division snapped, raped a 14 year old girl and murdered her and three other family members.
