On this Christmas Special of The Statist Quo, Matt goes solo and talks about one of the most interesting and unexpected events of World War I: The Christmas Truce, a spontaneous, bottom-up cease fire on Christmas Day that occurred on many parts of the Western Front. He talks about the events leading up to the truce, how World War I was different from other wars, which made the truce even more remarkable. Additionally, he touches on some of the artifacts of the Progressive Era and World War I which are still with us today, unfortunately. There was also supposed to be some bonus content about military medicine in WWI but he ran out of time, so that will have to wait until our show about anarchism and anti-war groups during the Great War.
