If you grew up anytime during the 90s then you should remember Pokemon. Honestly its pretty much impossible to never have seen or heard of that phenomenon. So what does that have to do with our latest guest?

Lazies meet Kris J. The Columbus, Ga native sat down in Da Den to talk his approach to marketing his music and how he plans to stick out in a flooded market of Atlanta emcees. We also go into why he decided to make the move to the city after graduating from Bethune Cookman and how knowing the business of music is more important that being an artist. This week on The Str8OutDaDen Podcast we sat down with a college buddy of mine, filmmaker King Williams. • From The Streets To The Galaxy w/ Nick Pratt & Lazy J

Allow me to reintroduce myself. Yeah I know that's the line from one of my favorite JAY Z records, but it's also what this podcast felt like. We have been shifting the way we present this podcast to you and so we decided to reconnect with our audience. Shortly after that we played some new music from our guest this week, Nick Pratt & Lazy J. I was able to catch up with them via phone where the convo got quite interesting. We spoke on how they connected, their new project 'Dark Matter: A Space Odyssey' and the trippy ride this album will take you on. We even had a special #VinylConversations segment. So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!

  • Bridging The Generational Gap In Hip-Hop w/ BIGREC

For our latest episode of the Str8OutDaDen Podcast, we sat down with the homie BIGREC. Great convo about hip-hop and bridging the generational gap. We also got into his purpose and legacy, how he connected with legendary producer Diamond D, the new direction he's taking his career and more. Of course it wouldn't be a Str8OutDaDen Podcast without doing our Vinyl Conversations segment and let me make it clear when I say that it was hilarious. BIGREC is a character and one that you have no choice but to gravitate towards. So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!

  • Black Milk Motivation & Humble Beginnings w/ Chakkra Tara

Chakkra Tara: Black Milk Motivation, DAHLIA & Bars For Days

Yep you read that right Chakkra Tara is the next guest on The Str8OutDaDen Podcast. The New Jersey native, now residing in Atlanta, sat down with us to talk the noise he is making with his DAHLIA album. To say this guy is humble would be an understatement. What I will say though is that he is a dope emcee who truly knows his purpose and is 100% focused on the journey.

We spoke on how he got his start, his relationship with producer Wino Willy, along with an ill story about a chance encounter with producer/emcee Black Milk. Of course we got bars and plenty of them at that. So you know the drill…sit back…Relax and Listen!

  • Does Church Belong In Hip-Hop/R&B? w/ Ron Shirley II

This week we switch from hip-hop to some soul with our latest guest on the Str8OutDaDen Podcast. Lazies meet Ron Shirley II (and don't forget the II). This one was a bit different from most podcast we do. We went back to our old method of hitting record mid convo and allowing you guys to catch up to speed.

The REBEL FOREST artist gave us details of how he started singing at the age of six. We also got into some real talk about goals and in depth convo about how to channel vision and goals. Definitely a dope episode. Did I mention this dude can SANG?!?!? So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!

  • Str8OutDaDen Podcast New Years Edition

I know its been a while since we did one of these, but this year we wanted to kick things off a bit differently for the Str8OutDaDen Podcast with a special New Years Edition. We did a couple of things outside the norm, including taking some calls, playing some music and getting you Lazies caught up to speed on everything Str8OutDaDen.

We spoke with Tony Millions & Topiq on the phone while we awaited our special guest, Sha'Lil. Man he had a lot to say and honestly it was a much needed conversation. We spoke on challenges within the industry and progression of our communities. Plus you know it wouldn't be a podcast without bars. Sha'Lil tackled our #VinylConversations segment with ease over a couple of instrumentals from the Shaft soundtrack. So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!

  • From 106 & Park To Health & Hip-Hop w/ SunNY

After the news about 106 & Park coming to an end broke, it was only right that we got one of the members of 106 & Park Hall of Fame, Freestyle Friday Series to stop by Da Den to talk with us on our latest episode of The Str8OutDaDen Podcast.

Lazies meet SunNY. The Rochester, NY native has been in Atlanta for some time now and when we ran into each other at the A3C Festival last month, we extended an invitation and the homie accepted. We only got him for 40 minutes but this episode is packed with gems. Not only did he share the story behind signing with So So Def, he also broke down how freestylers can still make hit records and even dropped a gem when he said his “Soul Of a Hustler” record was actually a freestyle.

SunNY brought us up to speed with his Sucka Free Athletics campaign that he is pushing as an initiative to bring Health to Hip-Hop and talked his upcoming project Cognac And One Leafs. Of course you know we couldn’t have the 106 & Park Freestyle Friday Hall of Fame member in Da Den and not get bars. Lets just say #VinylConversations was bananas!
