The Str8OutDaDen Podcast

A couple of weeks ago we sat down with the homie Tommy Swisher for another episode of the Str8OutDaDen Podcast. The homie definitely made for an interesting conversation. Not only did he break down his plan of never working in corporate America, he also took us through his journey of why he starting rapping. His “Drunk In Atlanta” record is moving right now in the city and the visuals are right around the corner. Take the time to get familiar with the homie now as he tells his story. Oh did I mention we got some dope bars too? So you know the drill…sit back…Relax and Listen!

The Savannah resident made his way to Da Den to talk his upcoming Kool Water EP, how he made his way to the mic, working with Messiah Da Rapper and more. Of course we got bars during another segment of #VinylConversations. So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!

About 7 or 8 months ago we sat down with Jimmy Hennec & South Johannson to talk their #DopeAF mixtape on the podcast. Well as you already know at this point, the two came back to Da Den to talk their follow up project Meet The Dope Dealer...Allegedly. With a November 13th release date already in place, Hennec and Johannson gave us a break down of a few records from the sophomore tape and share some personal stories. We broke down a lot of things here and to be honest, just had a dope time with the Dope Dealers...Allegedly. Of course this would not be a Str8OutDaDen podcast with the presence of bars and man we definitely got them during our #VinylConversations segment. So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!

For our latest podcast we caught up with Fort Collins, Colorado emcee Curci during our time at the A3C Festival here in Atlanta. After sharing a chance story of how we met, which included Jay Electronica, we got to know plenty about Curci and his journey. We recorded this one in the comfort our my car (remember our episode with Chiiirp?). Dope convo and even better bars at the end. So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!

This week we go in a different direction for the Str8OutDaDen Podcast, as we give the underground emcees a break to talk to the man behind the scenes. Lazies meet Kato. The SMKA/Funk Volume producer sat down with us for a dope convo about his journey from Virginia to Atlanta. We also went into great detail about the gifts and curses of the music industry, along with being Asian in hip-hop. While giving us the origin of his name, Kato also spoke on his relationship with XXL Freshman Jarren Benton (remember that time when he jumped into the crowd during A3C?) and signing to Funk Volume. Very dope conversation indeed. We even did #VinylConversations sans a freestyle, but who knows maybe we will get a chance to hear what he creates from the vinyl we gave him. So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!

This has to be by far the quickest turn around for a guest on the podcast. Remember a couple of days ago when we named our Sunday Spotlight artist? Well I told you that I would try my best to get this guy to come through and lucky for all of us he did. Lazies meet Brown…again. The Nashville emcee and his manager fell through Da Den to talk how he got his start, his Hattie B’s pregame ritual before shows, the meaning behind his 7:22 EP and more. We even got the homie to do our #VinylConversations segment and lets just say this one was entertaining. Can we say Eddie Murphy? So you know the drill…sit back…Relax and Listen!

You may have heard us talk about our latest guest on the Str8OutDaDen podcast a couple of times in the past couple of weeks. This Richmond emcee has something that a lot of upcoming rappers fail to realize the importance of having; a dope show. Lazies meet Komplex. Now residing in Atlanta, he talks his journey to the city along with having a passion for music that his mother supported. We also get into the importance of making timeless music and upcoming projects. Plus we couldn't let him leave without doing #VinylConversations. So you know the drill...sit back...Relax and Listen!
