It's valentines week, so we asked the field to send in secret valentines stories, and you all did not disappoint! We explore the intricate landscape of love delve into the nuances of different love types, sharing stories of triumphs and challenges in romantic and platonic relationships. We discuss the power of unconditional love, especially in parent-child bonds, and the complexities of love in the context of religion's impact on sexuality.

The conversation takes a focused look at how religious upbringing can influence perceptions of sexuality, leading to feelings of guilt and shame. We ideate ways we can advocate for more open communication and education within religious communities to navigate these challenges.

We whole-heartedly believe that to love someone else you have to love yourself first. Self-love allows us to nurture healthy relationships, and as Brene Brown writes in almost every book, it takes vulnerability, trust, respect, kindness, and affection to create a bond that can stand the test of time.

In mid November 2023, two podcasts had planned to come together during EAST (East Austin Studio Tours) to do a live show. ATX Artist Social and Strong Sunflowers, became The Social Sunflower. We had a producer, headsets, mics, a stage, beautiful decor, a photographer, a spoken word poet. What we didn't plan for... was the rain. 🌧️

The show got cancelled.

Instead of letting the weather literally rain on our parade, we decided to create one instead.

This conversation was recorded at 2324 Studios and it's an honest, unfiltered perspective on how each of our teams decided to start podcasts and how we got out of our own way to take the leap of faith into an unknown space.

We hope it inspires you to start something new, even if you aren't the best.
