The only limitation that is holding me back is myself.

The only obstacle in your way is yourself, the only reason you are in prison is because you have constructed the bars around yourself.  What if you weren’t to create the obstacle, what if you decided not to see the problem but the opportunity, and what if you were to step outside of the box and see that you are the only one holding yourself back?  The reason an obstacle is in front of you is not to stop you, but to create a better you.  The “thing” in front of you is the step ladder to help you see higher, to raise your consciousness in problem solving, to help you see that you are bigger, better, stronger, faster, more enduring than you have originally seen yourself as.  You already possess the key just turn the lock and unlock your self-imposed cell.

Fulfillment in all areas of my life is important to me

I gave a talk last month and I asked a question to the audience, “if you could use 1 to 3 words to describe what you want your current year to be—what would those words be?”  I got a bunch of different words and ideas, but one audience member said fulfillment.  I asked this person what that meant, and they began to tell me it was progress in all areas of their life.  I asked to clarify even more, “you mean not getting caught in the small things?” And they agreed with me.  When we focus on what is truly important in our lives by not getting caught in the small insignificant things, we can make our life more fulfilling.  And a fulfilled life is a beautiful, amazing, and everything we dreamed of… life.

I learn from my mistakes and the mistakes of others.

My mentor Mike told me a story about his father.  Mike is one of the most positive, most conscious, and most enlightened people I’ve ever had the privilege to meet.  He told me a story about how his father was the most negative man he ever knew, and by his father being that way it taught him about positivity.  Sometimes the greatest barriers in our lives are actually building blocks.  They are the hardest lessons we will experience so we never forget them—as they help us see who we don’t want to become, so we can begin focusing on who we DO want to become.

The only thing I will fear… is standing still

Fear of the unknown can seem daunting, but that’s because it’s unknown.  It seems dark and eerie, but what we don’t know doesn’t have to be scary.  If children were afraid of what they don’t know, then we would never have grown into the better people we are.  Instead of fearing movement, we should fear the lack of movement.  Lack of movement means death, figuratively and literally.  So while I’ll try not to fear anything, even lack of movement, I will have more respect for the things I want in my life.  I will respect the important things so much that I will be continually led by them, and I will continually be encouraged because of them.

My shortcomings are my greatest asset because they make me more creative.

When I am stuck I find it’s because I’m frustrated.  However, when I become aware of my frustration I ask myself a simple question, “how would I rather feel?”  And the same answer keeps coming up from my intuition—“to feel creative.”  When I am stuck and frustration sets in, it’s easy to give up and let the overwhelming emotion take over.  But when we can be aware of the emotion we don’t want, and pivot to the emotion we do that’s when change begins happening.  The obstacles in my life weren’t there to stop me, but they were there to help ask how I could be better to overcome that obstacle.  In our lives we will see that we will be asked to rise to the occasion—to know that just because we overcame one hurdle, doesn’t mean we can overcome the next hurdle by being the same person.  Every obstacle and every time we feel stuck is a chance for us to ask, “how can I be more creative to overcome the things that are blocking me?”

I believe our mistakes and the obstacles that create those mistakes are God’s way of speaking to us by saying, “I know you can be better, I have faith in you, I know you can make it through this, let me just help push you a little out of your comfort zone.  You got this!”

I am an original masterpiece.

Why would I want to be anyone else?  I have gifts and talents that no one else has.  It may seem like I am not as good as him or her, but that’s because I haven’t had enough time to hone my specialties just yet.  I will have a diligent fervor to bring my best self to the things I work on today.  I will stay industrious and have a great curiosity in how I can become better.  If what I put out into the world is an expression of me, then I will find ways to continually improve my outputs.  I will not beat myself up for not being perfect, but rather I will build myself up by reassuring myself this is a learning lesson, and how can I keep getting better.  I am the kindest person, to myself, because I know by doing so helps me to become better.  It helps me to always be looking on how I can keep refining my best self to share with the world.

I will be loyal to myself and the promises I make today.

Every day we make a promise to ourselves, and that promise is to live an amazing life or to settle for a mediocre one.  Are you putting your best self out today, not to impress others, but to fully actualize your potential?  We are not fulfilled unless we work to create our intended purpose—to put our best self forward.  That’s why we love challenges, that’s why we love problems, and that’s why we love following our passions.  Whenever I ask this question I almost always get an immediate answer from people, ”If there were no obstacles in what you wanted to do, what would you be doing right now?”  We know our passions, we know what we wish for of our lives, and we know what will fulfill us.  Are you keeping the promises that fulfill you, or are you settling for mediocrity in asking too little of yourself?  Reach just a little further today.  Your beliefs are like flexibility: the more you stretch the stronger your beliefs will become about yourself.  Be loyal in finding your best self today.

I am hopeful that everything will always be alright.

Everything in the end will be alright, if it’s not alright then it’s not the end.  It can be easy to forget that it will all work out; especially when we have the tendency to put a good amount of our focus on the stress instead of the truth.  The truth being—that life is beautiful.  When you can step back to be within the present moment and appreciate your life, you will see that it’s not just a silver lining here and there but a choice to create the lifestyle you wish.  Choose to be bigger, be better, be stronger, and go further than you believed you could before.  The only thing you need to change is the belief in yourself.  Change happens within an instant.  Hope for more of your life and then take action in this moment.

I will find the opportunity in each lesson.

I was talking with a friend who was distraught that they were always struggling in finding a good man to be in their life.  I reminded them that we don’t get what we want, we get what we focus on.  So when we continually focus on how it never works out, or we’re not good enough, or we won’t ever find someone worthy who will love us…we create an energy that diverts the things we want, away from us.  The energy we create by what we think, say, and do will either bring us closer to what we want or push us further away.  While my friend wasn’t where she wanted to be, I told her, “don’t go second guessin’ this blessin’.”  There was something purposeful going on, and I believed it was about loving herself first so she could allow the person who she would eventually end up with love her back as she needed.

I share my powerful energy with the world consciously and purposefully.

Our presence is more than just our physical presence.  I emit more than just an image of myself to others when I walk into any room.  I am a game changer. I change the dynamic of the room with my powerful energy.  This is not a conceded claim, but it’s more the reminder that I am purposeful in projecting great care and energy into every place I decide to reside in.  I don’t like to say goodbye to people, as I would rather say I’m sending great energy your way because I never truly leave people.  I give them great energy to help them in their lives not an emptiness of goodbye.

We’ve forgotten the power we emit when we are present and purposeful in this world in giving out a greater energy to help heal those around us.  I am what I think, I am what I say, I am what I do, so I will raise my level of consciousness to help heal the world around me…and when I do this I heal myself too.

I am powerful, and I will help others feel my energy and remember their power in this world too.  I will not do it alone, as I uplift the people I come in contact with, and I am a great reminder of what others can be and do as well.
