But rather than becoming converts to our cause, they promote subversive ideas that are designed to elicit positive headlines from conservative media and defuse a primary challenge – all the while failing to advance the ball on policy. So I delve into her spending cuts to show how 90% of them are built on lies and subterfuge and the rest are notional, speculative, unactionable, and designed to distract us. Finally, I propose a messaging strategy for Trump to push welfare reform by pairing it with reductions of foreign workers.
