Conservative Review with Daniel Horowitz

The time has come for Trump to fulfill his 2016 campaign promise to reduce legal immigration. As some Trump confidants make a push for expanding legal immigration, I make the case for Trump to speak with moral clarity on the need to get American workers off the sidelines. I go through the numbers, history, and types of visas to show how we have never had this much immigration. If we merely deport most of Biden’s illegal aliens and nibble around the edges on legal immigration, in five years from now we will be back to square one — or worse. Later on, I discuss how the South Carolina Freedom Caucus is showing us the power of conservative scrutiny of red-state legislatures. We also need to educate Trump early and often on red-state primaries so that we don’t face the same interference we’ve suffered in previous cycles.

Today, I explain why everything will hinge on our ability to cut spending for real and to hold the line on immigration. There is growing concern that the GOP, led by industry lobbyists, is planning to preserve major parts of Biden’s Green New Deal. Unless Trump leans in against these RINOs and is willing to buck his own donors, we will not cut spending, reduce inflation, and succeed in general. I call on Trump to push a reconciliation bill that not only contains tax and regulatory cuts but full elimination of a number of government programs plus a reduction in foreign workers. Unfortunately, many of his donors are pushing for an increase in already high levels of immigration.

Nothing embodies the GOP and everything that is wrong with it more than Sen. Joni Ernst’s “budget” proposal she sent to the DOGE. Today, I explain how the very RINOs who created the debt bomb wait until they are on the hook for a primary challenge and then suddenly claim to care about spending. But rather than becoming converts to our cause, they promote subversive ideas that are designed to elicit positive headlines from conservative media and defuse a primary challenge – all the while failing to advance the ball on policy. So I delve into her spending cuts to show how 90% of them are built on lies and subterfuge and the rest are notional, speculative, unactionable, and designed to distract us. Finally, I propose a messaging strategy for Trump to push welfare reform by pairing it with reductions of foreign workers.

Now that Trump’s Cabinet is pretty much set, I go through my unique perspective on his individual picks and the direction of his administration in total. I’m very concerned about his picks for Treasury and Labor, mixed together with some of the others who will oversee domestic policy. There are three outcomes of this administration, and I raise concerns that one of them is the creation of a new centrist/lean-left coalition that permanently marginalizes conservatives. My concern is that we get all of the left-wing components of populism but not the right-leaning components. With that said, I’m not as concerned about some of the HHS picks as some of my allies. Although the surgeon general pick is terrible, the more consequential positions will likely be occupied by COVID heroes rather than COVID zeroes. We need to remain vigilant to achieve enduring victories before Democrats come back into power, and right now this can go either way. The realm of outcomes is actually, ironically, perfectly represented in this mixed bag of top government appointees.

Both at the federal and state levels, if we fail to put pressure on the GOP, the same leaders and influencers will continue to subvert our mandate. I begin with federal news by noting that Nancy Mace’s fake fight against transgenderism is actually subversive because she is the source of the problem. Also, I delve into Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy's op-ed about “DOGE” and raise some concerns that they are skirting the big spending problems while giving the impression that they are discovering some innovative way to cut inflation simply by making the government more efficient. Next, I go through a list of red-state RINO problems, including the incoming speaker of the Missouri House, Jon Patterson. We’re joined today by Missouri state Rep. Justin Sparks, who is challenging Patterson for the speakership. Sparks warns that Patterson blocked ways to defeat the abortion amendment on the ballot, wants to treat abortion as the law of the land, opposed banning chemical castration, and supported denying organ transplants to those who didn’t get the COVID shots! He warns conservatives to stay engaged in legislative affairs because if they fall asleep, the same bad guys will continue to run the party and the red states into the ground.

There are signs that Gen Z is fed up with the Left. But we have not yet educated Gen Zers on affirmative good – the constitutional and biblical values that will rebuild civilization. Today, I broadcast with Rick Green from Patriot Academy’s campus, where we delve into the Patriot Academy program to bring college-age kids down to its mock legislative chamber to go through a simulation of a legislative session. Patriot Academy teaches biblical citizenship in a way nobody else does. Rick and I also delve into knotty issues, such as the cultural rotgut on the right, godless conservatism, and why Republican parents are raising Democrat daughters. It all stems from biblical and civic ignorance. If we don’t plug the gap now, we will not have a red America for the next generation.

You can win elections on mommy messaging, but you must govern like a daddy. The time has come for Republicans to be honest with the American people. The reason we have inflation is because of the programs people are addicted to. Today, I present a strategy and messaging for Trump to use the veto pen and his bully pulpit as leverage on the few spending bills and reauthorizations of programs that matter. Republicans must lead by example and refuse to spend money on their own pet projects. Next, I delve into immigration. We must stop promoting mommy messaging of “illegal bad, legal good.” Unfortunately, that is the direction many Republicans are headed. Finally, I discuss the need to be the daddy party and categorically oppose the gender-bending of our women.

The nomination of RFK Jr. to HHS is a dream come true for the medical freedom movement. But others in the media are missing the salient point about how we got here. Trump was forced to concede the vaccine issue to RFK because he was willing to follow through with an independent run in a way that would have assured Trump’s loss. Today, I make the point that we need to play the same hardball with RINOs who win primaries and demand a seat at the table. This is coalition government at its finest. I also outline what RFK can do administratively without changing laws. Finally, I warn about what it will take to cut spending and that we don’t need a Manhattan Project to downsize government. We just need to be honest.
