As the saying goes “weak men create hard times” and that seems to be what we are seeing today. The first and second amendments are under attack on a daily basis. History has shown over and over again how people become complacent, and governments deteriorate from the inside out.

We also cover how advances in technology are always a double edged sword, and how technology is advancing faster than anytime in history because of computing and the internet.

Prepping Website of the Week

We also go over the realities of ham radio for preppers to help anyone who may be interested make an informed decision. It’s not as simple and straightforward and some of these websites make it sound.

1984 Movie Review

For years people have been pointing out the similarities between George Orwell’s dystopian novel 1984 and society. Even though the term “Big Brother” has become part of our vocabulary, most people don’t even know where it came from.

These days this story seems more relevant than ever. History is being erased and changed, surveillance is more prevalent than even Orwell would have expected, and the internet that was once a way to voice our opinions is now being used against us.

Some of the major lessons from the movie and novel 1984 are how propaganda is used for shaping minds, News Speak and Thought Crime. Everything we see and hear these days is black and white, you are either obedient or complicit.

Gamestop & Crypto

While the Game Stop short sell was a great David vs Goliath story, it seems the unbreakable bond between big banks and government will squash this uprising once again. Hopefully this is just the beginning of the “little guy” beating them at their own crooked game.

Because of the Game Stop story it got us to thinking about how viable Cryptocurrency is, or will become in the future. In this video we did last Tuesday we went over the basics of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency.

What Were About

In our first podcast episode we went over our plans for the show and what to expect from us. While not much has changed, we decided to readdress the topic now that we have a few shows under our belt.

As we said in the show, we talk more about why to prepare rather than how to prepare, although we do that too. We talk about being prepared not just for prepping, but life in general. Being prepared for what may come, adjusting accordingly, and not getting caught off guard.

Prepper Comms

Ham radio (Amateur Radio) and 2 way radios in general are very popular subjects in the preparedness community, and for good reason. Being able to communicate and gather information in a disaster or SHTF scenario can and will be a game changer.

The problem is, just about everything you read about 2 way radios for preppers tells you why it’s important but falls short of explaining the complete story. Like why ham radio may or may not be the best option for you and your family.

What does 2021 have in store for us? Zombies? Asteroids falling from the sky? Famine? According to Nastradomas that’s exactly what we can expect this coming year. Along with these predictions we have a few of our own. Although, if any of these come true we may not be here next year to find out if we were right or wrong.  

Along with that we are also going to talk about what “Being the Gray Man” means to preppers. On the surface it’s fairly simple, it means blending in. It gets more complicated when you start talking about how, when, where and why you need to blend in, and become as unremarkable as possible.

Nostradamus Predictions

According to Nostradamus 2021 is not going to be a good year. He predicted we would see zombies, earthquakes, famine, and even asteroids and/or solar storms. With everything we’ve seen in 2020 this seems par for the course.

Our Predictions

Along with the predictions for 2021 from Nostradamus we gave a few of our own. Next year at this time we are going to replay them and see how we did.

Some of our predictions included whether or not Elan Musk will be on his way to Mars, how high gas prices will get, and how much our national debt will rise. Oh, I forgot the big one! Will Kamala Harris or Joe Biden be our president in 2022?

Being the Gray Man

The gray man mentality and situational awareness is about more than what you wear, it’s about everything you do that might make you stand out in a crowd. Being the gray man is about what you do and say on a daily basis, and who you say it to.

Throughout our daily live we do things trying to become the gray man without thinking about it. If you’ve ever tried to avoid eye contact with an annoying acquaintance or a street vendor, you have tried to become the gray man.

Covid Here to Stay? 

Lockdowns, lies and the new normal

 

Get ready, because the show is just getting started, and I’m not talking about this one. We’ve proven we can be controlled and locked down. We’ve proven that the government can distribute money wherever they deem “necessary”. And we’ve proven that we are willing to let big tech dictate who gets a voice.

We no longer have to worry just about the government destroying the country. Big Tech can do far more damage with its ability to shape society and culture. They have anointed themselves Gods, and decide who and what gets heard.

What concerns me is not that conservatives voices are being censored, but that most people are OK with it, and it doesn’t happen on all sides. The people on the left and on the right will find their places to go. The people in the middle are subject to whatever is considered “Mainstream” or “Safe”. This group of people (the largest) could be easily manipulated.

I wish I had a time machine to go back to the 1770’s and be a fly on the wall. I imagine it would be very similar to today. Most people calling people like our founding fathers insurrectionists, and criminals.

Censorship was always inevitable with these social media sites. It’s gone from something that people use to connect, to something people NEED to feel connected.

It’s human nature. People want normalcy and the status quo. Most people don’t care about the big picture, they care about their picture.

People have become dependent on these social networks. These companies have created products that are so easy and convenient people won’t leave them.

In today’s Duff & Dale reflect on the recent riots at the capital, and what that it might mean in the near future for the United States. As we stated in our podcast prior to this, the riots were unacceptable, but the root cause goes deeper that election irregularities.

We have become a country that feels increasingly disenfranchised, and no longer trust that the media or our politicians have our best interests at heart. This goes for every side of the isle. Left, right, or in the middle. Government corruption is nothing new, but seems to be in overdrive recently.

This Weeks Topics

* The DC Riot’s Fallout: As Thomas Jefferson once wrote “Unsuccessful rebellions indeed generally establish the encroachments on the rights of the people”. Regardless what your opinion is about current events, censorship will no doubt get worse.

* Capitalizing on the Riots: You can bet that the Democrat party will use this every chance they get to fracture the Republican party in effort to push through their agenda. Pay close attention to how this gets used in upcoming gun legislation.

* All conservatives are Now Extremists: As with everything else, there is no gray area in politics. The actions of a few have now branded the entire Republican party as extremists.

* Government Corruption: Our government is proving over and over again that, it’s not “for the people anymore.” Cities can burn throughout the entire year without a concern, but once it affects them the rules change.

* Term Limits: We discussed in the show how term limits will never happen because the politicians that make the rules will never fire themselves. This is the catch 22 of letting the fox run the hen house.

* Overt Censorship: In the show I demonstrated how google and Duck Duck Go have completely different search results. How we get our information is now in the hands of a few very large and powerful companies.

The events that unfolded On January 6th at our nation’s capital has put a black eye on everything the Trump administration has done in the last 4 years. While there are bigger issues at the core of people’s issues, this needs to be condemned as harshly as we condemned all the other riots that happened in 2020.

As the event unfolded during the day we decided to jump on YouTube and talk about our feelings on this situation and post an “unscheduled” podcast about how the republicans are frustrated in this country, and how hypocrisy exists on every side of the isle these days.

We all know that republicans don’t get a fair shake in the media. The left can have riots going on all year and they are called “mostly peaceful”. When it happens on the right it’s because of extremists and insurrectionists.

Just like every riots that went on in 2020, the bigger issues get overshadowed by a small minority that decide to take things too far and start causing destruction. While election integrity may be the catalyst for these DC riots, the root cause is something much deeper.

You can bet that the politicians i-on the left will seize this opportunity to demonize the right even more. We could be in for a long few years and expect even more censorship to come our way. If the media and our elected officials (on both sides) continue to ignore these issues, this problem is only going to get worse.

While we’re all glad to see 2020 done and gone, 2021 could end up being a make or break year in the United States. China is trying to take over the world, and our government seems to be uninterested in our economy, or it’s citizens.

Chinese Super Soldiers: It may come as no surprise, but China is not only trying to financially take over the world, but as a backup plan they are working on developing super soldiers.

While the U.S. is probably doing the same thing, the difference is China is using healthy people to test their gene editing theories. They are trying to create soldiers that can handle extreme weather conditions and biological threats.

The Great Reset: While this is nothing new, the great reset could become a major issues heading into 2021. As they say “never let a good crisis go to waste”. The sad part about this plan is that there is a large majority of people who will follow along.

The Modern Monetary Theory Explained: If you haven’t heard about the new way the government plans to validate our national debt, your not alone. I had no idea about the MMT until Brian wrote this article explaining what it’s all about.

Basically it says that the government can print money on demand, and it’s perfectly fine. So our concerns about hyper inflation, an economic collapse, and over taxation are unwarranted.

And I’ve got swampland in Arizona to sell also.

 

One aspect of our preparedness plans that doesn’t get the attention it deserves is our health and fitness. This week we have Chris on with us from AIM Human Performance to talk about being physically ready for a disaster or SHTF event.

Just like every other part of preparedness, the more we do about our health before a disaster situation the better. While some of us have limitations that are unavoidable, there are some areas of our health and fitness we tend to overlook.

As with all aspects of preparedness, there is no one size fits all health & fitness plan. You need to do whatever works best for you, and try to become as physically ready as possible for whatever life may throw at you.

 

This week in the show We have the father of wilderness medicine Dr. William Forgey on with us to talk about his new book The Preppers Medical Handbook.

We talked about the different types of situations preppers might face in a disaster scenario, how to treat pain, and how his book is more of an encyclopedia rather than a “read from cover to cover” type book.

As I mentioned in the show, this is one of the best resources a prepper can have in their preparedness library. This Prepper Medical Handbook doesn’t spend a whole chapter on how to suture, or splint a broken bone.

While it does have those in there, it’s more of a reference of different types of illnesses and injuries you might run into, and how to treat them. It’s available in both Kindle and paperback, and I subject investing in the physical copy.

Off Grid vs On Grid: In this segment from our show with Dr. Forgey, we discussed the difference between off grid medicine and grid medicine.

We also covered what types of medical situations preppers might face in a disaster or SHTF situation. Some could be bugging out or getting home situations, but most will be situations that arise in our prepping groups or within our family at home.

Long-Term Collapse: We started this off by talking about how prepping doesn’t have to be a job, and how learning about Prepping is Fun. We then went into what the long term Collapse timeframe would be, and what we might need.

The Reality of Survival: In a survival situation managing The Little Stuff could be more important than the larger, more unlikely injuries. Without treatment, something small could turn into a major headache for everyone involved.

Dental Care & Pain Medications: Towards the end of the show we went over why dental care is both overlooked and important. We also talked about managing pain in a survival situation, and some of the different options.
