At some point in time, each of us will be in a situation where we need to have a seemingly hard conversation. It might be with a coworker, a manager, a customer, a spouse – in any case, we know that having a discussion with that person is needed to solve a problem...but there's a good chance it'll be uncomfortable. In this episode, Amanda and Wade are chatting about hard conversations, including:

If you've listened to this podcast before, you know that we put a big emphasis on taking care of yourself – exercise, eating well, meditation, reading. And, now, it's time to dig into the one thing we ignore all too often – getting enough sleep.
In this conversation, Mark Jewell sits down with inventor Richard Jacobs to talk about:
Sleep is one of those things that we tend to take for granted, but can make a huge difference in our ability to thrive at work and beyond. Enjoy!
About Richard Jacobs
Richard's newest venture, The Good Night's Sleep Project, features his patent-pending custom-tailored-pillow. The custom-tailored-pillow idea came from Richard interviewing over 110 sleep professionals, and dealing with his own sleep issues for the past 20+ years. It is available now! In October 2016, Richard started The Future Tech Podcast, and has now interviewed 1800+ companies in artificial intelligence, stem cells, 3D printing, gene editing, bitcoin, blockchain, the microbiome, quantum computing, virtual reality and space exploration and more. Richard also has 10 years of experience as CMO (chief marketing officer) of Speakeasy Marketing, Inc, a firm that has helped over 900 attorneys nationwide to improve their law practices, and is the author of five books including Secrets of Attorney Marketing Law School Dares Not Teach – 1st, 2nd and 3rd editions, the Ultimate Guide to Local Business Marketing (Ultimate Series) (co-author), and Bitcoin, Ethereum & Blockchain: Lessons Learned From 200+ Interviews of Blockchain Companies. It's time for the final episode of our three-part series on health, fitness and nutrition! This week, MJST coach Christina Schroeder is talking with coach and athlete Missy Henry about what fitness can teach us about ourselves – and it has nothing to do with how much weight we can lift.
Missy was born and raised in Omaha. Her passion for health and exercise was cultivated through her years as an athlete and watching her family battle severe health issues due to an unhealthy lifestyle. As a long-time personal trainer and strength coach, Missy opened Edge Body in December 2014. She was also a full-time faculty member in the department of Health, Physical Education & Recreation (HPER) at the University of Nebraska Omaha (UNO), teaching undergraduate Exercise Science courses from the Fall of 2011 to the Spring of 2016. Missy and her husband Rob, welcomed their first child, a baby girl named Sawyer, in May 2016.
In this conversation, Christina and Missy talk about:
In a lot of ways, exercise and what happens in the gym is simply a metaphor for how we treat ourselves in many areas of life. This discussion uncovers some of those parallels. Enjoy!

The human body is an amazing thing. From your brain, bones and organs to all the pieces and parts in between, this suit you're wearing from your first day until your last is quite impressive.
In today's episode of The Survivor's Guide to Thriving, Mark Jewell is sitting down with Christine Line – owner of PUSH!FIT Studio and Certified High Performance Coach – to talk about all the things we often don't realize the body can do. They dig into:
It's easy to believe we can simply think and logic our way through life, but if we start paying attention to the way we – and our bodies – feel, we realize there's a world of possibilities available to us. Enjoy!

We're back with the second episode of our three episode series on health, fitness and nutrition! This week, MJST coach Christina Schroeder is talking with nutrition coach Alex Maclin about the role food plays in helping you meet your health goals and how your habits can be designed to fit your life.
Alex has been heavily involved in the fitness industry for more than eight years and, in that time, he's coached hundreds of athletes through online training programs for weightlifting, strength and conditioning, been exposed to and learned directly from some of the smartest, most successful people in fitness, hosted the Barbell Shrugged Podcast (for a moment!), competed at national-level and regional-level meets in Olympic Weightlifting, and he's coached weightlifters at the national and regional levels. Alex has coaching certifications through Precision Nutrition, USA Weightlifting, Eleiko Sport and CrossFit® – and we're excited that he's joining us today!
In this conversation, Christina and Alex dig into:
Food can be the more complicated part of a health and fitness journey, but the tips and advice shared here today can help you feel more confident in the choices you're making every day when you eat. Enjoy!

Company culture is a topic of conversation every leadership team that we work with brings up at some point in time. They know it's important, but they're just not sure what to do about it. We get it. So in this episode, MarkSteven Reardon and Mark Jewell are digging into culture and discussing:
Culture isn't just pool tables and free beer on Fridays, so whether you're a team member, a team leader or a senior leader – this episode has something for you. Enjoy!

You ever have one of those days where you just don't feel like going to the gym? Where you don't want to choose the veggies over the cookies? We all have! Those days are going to come and, in those moments, health and fitness becomes not just a physical journey – but a mental one too.
On this episode of The Survivor's Guide to Thriving Podcast, MJST coach Christina Schroeder is talking to two real people who have been on personal health and fitness journeys about the role mindset plays in reaching your goals.
Drew Schroeder (yes, Christina's husband!) has been a competitive athlete his entire life. First with football and track, and later moving into bodybuilding. He believes training is crucial to mindset development and that protecting time in the gym to push himself has helped him push harder in his sales career. This clearer mindset has served him at work, at home, and in life.
Cody Conner is the owner and head coach at Nerve Health & Fitness, a Crossfit gym in Omaha. From day one, he's loved being a well-rounded athlete. He grew to love the grind of working out and getting better. From Cody's perspective, he knew that God gave him the gift of serving others with his abilities – and Nerve is the result of that.
In this conversation, Christina, Drew and Cody dig into:
Whether you're a seasoned athlete or trying to build healthy habits for a long life, getting into the right mindset is going to be a part of that effort. Insight from Christina, Drew and Cody can help you identify what that looks like for you. Enjoy!
