Federal Reserve Chairman, Jerome Powell, gave an interview a couple days back. He gave a warning that our economy is going to take some time to recover and that he feels unemployment will hit historic levels equal or greater than the Great Depression. He went on to mention that 40% of people who make under $40,000 annually are now unemployed. People who were just hired before the pandemic were the first ones to be let go. Food banks are passing out record levels of food to families who are in desperate need.
Business owners are feeling the pinch and many are thankful to finally be open – even if it IS on a limited basis. Many businesses are still closed and the prognosis is tough for those businesses that rely on lots of people – it doesn’t look like things are going to get back to normal for quite some time.
And…. People will continue to get sick and die until we can get vaccines.
Things seem to really be broken.
But is “broken” always a bad thing?
This episode is all about opening our eyes and trying to see that it sometimes takes something to break in order to have a breakthrough. People and businesses may be able to be in a better position in the long run, or they may end up going backwards and closing their business or filing bankruptcy.
Today’s guest is an expert at creating a vision, leading exponential growth, and involving literally thousands of people to make things happen not just in the Pittsburgh region, but all over the world. He can relate to everyone who just lost their jobs or to businesses that are feeling desperate. His current role came about when we lost his job as an extremely successful sales rep in the automotive industry. If it weren’t for losing his job years ago, the Pittsburgh area would be quite different today.
We welcome Pastor Scott Stevens, of Northway Christian Communities. Scott was responsible for incredible growth of the church community during the last 10 years. He helps us to understand that just because things may appear to be bad today, it may be just what you need to have a breakthrough into something you were meant to do.
Whether you own a medical practice, business, or you just got furloughed as an employee, this is a must hear episode to put some meaning to what is happening right now.
