  • Episode 83: The Power of Your Why in Building a Private Practice

Today, I’ll be discussing the process of discovering your "why"–the core motivation behind wanting to start a private practice. I share my own journey from starting with no clear purpose in 2015 to defining a deeply personal and fulfilling why in 2019, which transformed my practice and made every decision feel more intentional.

Understanding your why is the heartbeat of your business. It can guide your decisions and it's essential, especially for women and mom therapists, to align your private practice with your personal values and life goals.

You'll get practical steps and reflective questions to help uncover your true motivations and start building a practice that feels meaningful and fulfilling. Whether you're just starting out or have been in practice for years, this episode has valuable insights for everyone.

  • Episode 80: We're Back! Empowering Women in Private Practice Amidst Personal and Systemic Challenges

We’re so glad to be back after an unexpected break! Life’s been a bit of a whirlwind lately. In this episode, I open up about the unexpected break from the podcast and share what's been happening in my life–from our latest move with the Coast Guard from Florida to Virginia to navigating postpartum anxiety, dealing with my daughter’s food sensitivities, and adjusting to life as a family of five.

I’ve found myself feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and often angry at the systems in place (or lack thereof) that fail to provide enough support for mothers and families. I open up about how that anger affected my patience and interactions with my family, and how I’m working through it all.

This episode is about honesty, vulnerability, and recognizing the need for more support in the spaces we live and work in, especially as women and moms. Thanks for joining me on this personal journey!

Ever wondered if listing with a directory is the right move for your growing therapy practice? In this episode, I share a training I offered to my Village community about how to weigh the pros and cons of directories and identify which ones might be best for your niche.

Depending on where you are in scaling your practice, they might be a great fit or they could potentially bust your marketing budget and provide very little ROI. If you’re considering listing with a directory, take a listen and get tips for what to consider before making the decision.
