Fun to have on a legend of the game who has a hand in most everything within the game in Australia and has such an influential voice on many of today's most important debates on thought pieces about the future of golf. Mike is currently an architect with Clayton, Devries, and Pont, one of the coolest and most globally influential architecture firms in the game today. Their work has taken them all across the sand belt an much of the restorative work being done there, they are beginning to become the go to group in much of England, and finally, look out for some of their upcoming original works such as 7-Mile Beach in Tasmania.

Mike and Walker also go deep on the topic of rollback, why you and I should care about it, and some of the more nuanced pieces of that discussion. The importance of rollback has a lot more to do with why and how people can enjoy the game more based on equipment and architecture rather than solely focusing on the topic within the realm of pro golf.

Simon Dick, the living embodiment of The Tie podcast. Simon hails from Melbourne, Australia and plays out of the world renowned Kingston Heath Golf Club. Simon and Walker explore his past, somewhat recent travels over the past handful of years chasing the top 100 golf courses in the world, and his immediate past of the covid 19 lockdowns that have been much tougher on Aussies than those of us in the states. Great chat today especially for the sports fans out there. KJ is an aspiring NFL QB who played 4 years for Stanford before transferring to play under Mike Leach for a year at Mississippi State. Recently, he has spent time on a few rosters as well as going through the NFL combine and continuing his hard work on his craft. This is a good one for all the mindset junkies out there as KJ shares his cerebral approach to getting better at Quarterbacking, golf, or anything he approaches in life. For the record, KJ is probably about a scratch and prefers a controlled cut that goes at least 325 on a good day, so don't think his lack of time for gold means he doesn't have game. A local Charlotte artist, Dave Baysden has become heavily involved with and passionate about the game of golf over the last handful of years as his life as an artist has developed from a lifelong interest, to side gig, to full time show. Dave has particularly grown his passion for golf and his art business in tandem, painting some of the more interesting and creative pieces of different courses and golf landscapes I have seen. Among other styles, Dave has found his niche in watercolors, with a focus on golf courses in an abstract realism sort of style. If you don't know who Brandon is yet, that is about to change. He'll be headed to the tour this fall after a great season on the Korn Ferry Tour which placed him 13th on the season ending points list over the 2 year rolling schedule with the covid break in between. Brandon gives us a run down of what his pro path has looked like thus far as well as what he has focused on to continue to get better. We also get into how he approaches rest, recovery, nutrition, and balancing life off the course.
