It's a skill to learn to master your emotions.

At times they get the best of us, we let the instant gratification of blowing up, raising our voice or putting someone straight take over the cool, calm and in control, centered response that would actually get us want we want.

It's not easy, but, if we can do it, by choosing the other path and deciding to operate without anger taking over, we create new results. Anger is easy. Anger doesn't take any effort all. What's not easy but is worthwhile for your success is knowing yourself and knowing how you handle tricky situations. When you master this, ultimately you master yourself.

If someone or something can make you angry, they have power over you. This is not a great feeling and whilst in the moment it feels cathartic to let it rip, it does YOU  a disservice.

You are robbing yourself of the outcome that could have been created if you kept your cool. This is where you stack advantages in your favor, when you control you, you become next level!

Gone is the shame and guilt about how you should have responded but didn't and in comes a new world class operator that's able to address complex and challenging situations under pressure keeping the big picture and their respect for themselves front and centre.

What is it about great salespeople that makes them great?

In this episode, I talk about great discovery and the importance of spending more time in the discovery phase of the sales cycle than you'd probably think.

As a momentum seller one of the ways you create momentum in sales is through the way you do discovery, it separates you from every other salesperson, when you can have a conversations thats relaxed and gets the client to open up you're instantly ahead of the pack.

Often when you're doing what the pack does, it's the wrong thing to do, you've got to do what the pack doesn't do to get amazing results.

The right questions, asked in the right way (not attached to the result) lead to incredible realisations, ownership of the problem by your client and buy-in. This translates to momentum in sales.

You can see the calibre of a salesperson in their ability to get a group of clients talking about things that matter, the way they are currently doing things, how the go about it, what's stopping them from doing it differently, what they would ideally like.

All of this is how you as a world class salesperson help the client unload, and open up about whats really going on at the core of the problem.

Discovery, discovery, discovery, it's an Art and when you master it, you'll rocket to the top of your organisation, your field and your clients go to list.

In this episode I discuss the difference between a mediocre salesperson and a top seller and how you can change your results if you put into practice what I am throwing down!

This applies to anything not just sales, but I love working with peak performers and those that aspire to do better in sales so for today we will focus on selling and how to show up in ANY economy, ANY team, ANY environment and WIN!

Your Self Image has EVERYTHING to do with your results, what you accept and expect in your life and whether or not you consistently hit sales targets.

Think about it this way, have you ever met anyone who has a 6 pack? They've done the work to make it happen, it didn't just happen, but how to they sustain it? It's because of their self image, they consistently do the work, automatically without thinking about it, to maintain it, to achieve the result. Having a 6 pack is part of their self image and it dictates their behavior, what they eat, how much the exercise, what happens when they have an off week, what they do if they miss a few days, everything!

When you change your self image, you change it all. This is why we must learn to focus on a bigger idea of ourselves and train ourselves to see ourselves achieving what we want. We have to push through the old habit patterns and create new, default ones that override and take the place of the old. Thats why image is so important. If you don't change the image you don't sustain the result.

For salespeople, it shows as the salesperson I describe in the Momentum Sales Model as THE YOYO'ER, they see the external result (they're not hitting target), they do a bunch of activity to force their revenue numbers and sales up, they achieve the desired result through a heap of effort and energy, then because they didn't change their self image, they start to drop back down to their self image. THIS IS THEIR PATTERN.

Change your self image and you change the game!

In this episode, I'll share some strategies to help you expand, grow your business and put yourself in a position to win.

You've got to get a bigger idea of yourself, close the gap and reprogram your thinking to enable you to overcome the fear, self doubt and judgement keeping you from growing.

Growth happens outside of your comfort zone, but we've got to take action to change the self image thats keeping you tied to your current results.

Your current results are a product of your current thinking.

Don't hold back, don't limit yourself from what's possible for you. Often times we don't act for fear of what others will think or even what we judge others for doing. The way to rewrite the program is to DO IT NOW!

When you become someone who DOES IT NOW, you take back control, build your self confidence and become more.

It just takes a couple of big wins to start the momentum moving in your favour. Just focus on thinking and acting like the person you want to become and make decisions from this place.

Guinness World Record holder Adrianna Brownlee came on the show to talk through the last few years of her life climbing 10 of the 14 peaks (8,000 meters+) across Nepal and Pakistan and China, living with Sherpas, the relationships she formed in Nepal and the differences in the changing landscape.

Adri talks us through her fitness training routine for Everest and climbing 8,000'ers. How to mentally prepare for the possibility that you could die at any second.

We discuss the radical changes in the mountaineering culture over the last couple of years. The influx of new people to trekking, trying to get sponsorships to get go climb different projects around the world.

Adri has a passion for climbing, not for the records, but for the sense of purpose it gives.

We talk about the difficulties that you face as a climber on the mountain, the realities of the most inhospitable environments, remote locations where if anything goes wrong, you'll be in serious trouble very quickly and then we also discuss the business side of things. The growing cost of climbing expeditions, raising money through sponsors, living in the UK, wanting to be in Nepal, running a trekking business.

What's clear is that Adri is all in on climbing and treking and has along with sherpa Gelje set up a company called AGA Adventures to help run treks to Everest base camp and others mountains in Nepal.

What happens when you ask GPT to create you a business and run it for 30 days with only 1 human hour of time dedicated per day and a $1k budget?

It’s been 19 days since Joao Ferrao dos Santos has this idea and embarked on this journey. I was lucky enough to interview him for the show and hear the lessons that he’s learnt on this wild ride.

We discuss how to handle this kind of non-stop ride, how to make the most of it yet stay humble. Something stood out to me that Joao mentioned during our conversation, when I asked him his strategy to capitalise on the momentum he said “it’s important to remember to stay be extremely humble and realize that you go viral on social media and maybe you’re the talk of the town for the week but people move away very fast. The best way to manage that is to work hard while you have traction and ride that wave to wherever you want to go”.

This is an important lesson and takeaway.
