Summer’s over, the kids are back at school — and frankly, some adults in Britain could do with joining them. In this Trawl, Marina Purkiss and Jemma Forte sift through the week’s chaos on social media, from Reform UK’s genius plan to cut deals with the Taliban, to Rylan’s unexpected audition for GB News, to a bread shortage that isn’t quite a crisis.

This week on The Trawl, logic takes a holiday and truth is just a vibe.

Marina Purkiss and Jemma Forte wade into yet another week where the internet resembles less a town square and more a hall of mirrors. There’s a man convinced liberals hate breakfast, a woman who’s rewriting reality on live radio, and a politician who’s untethered from the facts yet remains unchallenged. 

The ladies begin by talking a look at Thomas Skinner and his mash-based brand of banter, a social media showdown that’s pure gravy. Then, Iain Dale’s Cross Question serves up some very cross answers which almost (but not quite) drown out an extraordinary statement from Jonathan Gullis.

Meanwhile, Reform's Sarah Pochin is spinning baseless scare stories and Nigel Farage is doing his usual fearmongering freestyle.

Also in the mix: underrated rants, underrated rage, and a touch of Samuel L. Jackson wisdom to round things off.
