At 11:35 am on August 3rd 2007, The London Ambulance Service received a call from a frantic and distraught mother saying how her child was unresponsive and not breathing, the call came from the house where Tracey Connelly lived.

In his short 17 months of life, Peter knew only a life of pain, abuse, neglect and violence. He was visited over 60 times by Haringey's social services, yet he died at the hands of his mother and her boyfriend.

Anatoly Moskvin was a grave robber, but he didn’t just take clothes, jewellery or other valuables. He took the corpses too. Moskvin said that he felt sorry for the dead children and that they were calling out to him to be resurrected. He thought he could bring them back to life using black magic or a ceremony like the one he had been forced to partake in as a teenager.

Finland is often viewed as a scenic country with plenty to do for nature lovers and stunning architecture for those who prefer cities. Finnish crimes are often crimes of passion between two people who are intoxicated and get into an argument. Occasionally, Finland witnesses a crime so brutal that even the Police are left in shock. This is the dark side of Finland.

Cases mentioned -
The unsolved murder of Kyllikki Saari, 1953
The Lake Bodom massacre, 1960

On February 2nd 2009 Christine Ross was walking her dog along the Arroyo Bank on Albuquerque's West Mesa , when she came across a bone sticking out of the ground.

Ross suspected that the bone didn’t look like it came from an animal. She took a picture of the bone and sent it over to her sister who is a nurse. Her sister replied and much to Ross’ horror her suspicions were confirmed, it was human.

Upon investigation, Albuquerque police discovered that between 2001 and 2005 11 women had been buried on the West Mesa by an unknown killer. Police utilised technology and did satellite scans of the area which showed tyre tracks and plots of disturbed soil where the women had been buried.

Ricky C McCormick was born in1958 in Missouri, USA. McCormick dropped out of school without being able to fully read or write. According to his family, the most that Ricky was able to spell was his own name and often needed help filling out job applications.

So when his body was found in an isolated cornfield just off Route 367 in West Alton, Missouri the case seemed an open and close drug-related homicide. That was until Police discovered a mysterious cipher on Ricky, leading them down a rabbit hole that has never been decoded.

Even the FBI has been unable to crack the code found on Ricky in 1999, so what was someone who was supposedly illiterate doing with a complex cipher? This is the mysterious death of Ricky McCormick.

If you have an idea how to break the code, have seen similar codes, or have any information about the Ricky McCormick case, you are urged to contact the FBI via the following link. http://forms.fbi.gov/code

Alternatively, you can write to the CRRU at the following address: FBI Laboratory, Cryptanalysis and Racketeering Records Unit, 2501 Investigation Parkway, Quantico, VA 22135, Attn: Ricky McCormick Case.

On February 24th 1980, Jack D. Bannister and his son Jack P Bannister planned on spending some quality father-son time together searching for gold along the Fly Creek which is close to Canyon Creek in Vancouver, Washington. They found much more than gold that brisk February day when they came across the skeletal remains of a teenage girl - minus her torso and hands. It wasn't until 40 years later that the Fly Creek Jane Doe would finally be able to reclaim her name.

On September 8th 1991, two people were riding their horses in a field near Calder Road, Texas when they came across the remains of a female. They called this into the local police department and the Galveston County Medical Examiners Officer was soon involved in the hopes of identifying the doe.

Sadly, the medical examiner and the police were unable to identify the body found and she was given the placeholder name of Janet Doe. Janet Doe would become another victim in the infamous ‘Texas Killing Fields Case’.

Time passed by with Janet’s family and all of the Agents/Detectives involved waiting patiently when in late 2019, answers finally came. Detectives and agent’s alike met with the Galveston County Medical Examiner to discuss the findings of her investigations.

The medical examiner said that she had agreed with the DNA testing results and that she was actually in the process of updating Janet’s death certificate.

It seems that on August 24th 1867 Frederick Baker was not just walking through Alton with the purpose of a leisurely walk but with cruel intentions. By the evening of August 24th the small town of Alton would be shaken by one of the most vicious murders and mutilations of a child the U.K has ever seen. This is the murder of sweet Fanny Adams. This case was suggested to me by Anna on Twitter, thank you so much Anna, this episode is for you.

On the morning of July 17th 1982 two hikers set out along the Sheep Flats on what was to be a sunny and breezy day in the popular hiking area of Washoe County, Nevada, close to Lake Tahoe.

Their day was set to be a calm and peaceful one when they came across the body of a 25 to 35 year old woman who had been sexually assaulted and shot in the back of the head. She had been shot as she was bent over. The killer had also concealed the bullet wound with a pair of mens underwear.

It wasn't until 2019, over 37 years later, that our doe was able to get her name back.
