When a child is abducted by a parent and raised under control and religious manipulation, reclaiming one's voice is the first step toward healing. Dawn McCarty’s ordeal began at age four, when her mother kidnapped her, erased her identity, and subjected her to fear, lies, and weaponized religious teachings. By eight, she was adopted by her stepfather and sealed to her abductor in temple rituals. By 15, she faced grooming disguised as religious trust.

After escaping at 16, Dawn rebuilt her life. Today, she is a senior cybersecurity analyst with over 20 years of experience, dedicated to helping families protect children online. Forty-four years later, she reunited with her biological father, closing one of life’s most powerful chapters. Dawn’s story is a testament to survival, courage, and the unbreakable human spirit.
