The Ultimate Relationship

I publish regular blogs on my website and also on Substack, where you can read about my life and times, my travels and my recent relocation to Portugal to start a new life and create a cutting edge eco project, called the Earth Collective. In between posts, I publish 'Notes' on Substack, which appear to be a well-kept secret! I have been doing them for a year now, and would like to do more but only if people read them! So, I thought to record a selection of Note to allow my followers to catch up, and then look out for them in the future. There are many anecdotes about my time in Ireland last year, touring in the 'mothership' on wheels. And more recently the process of getting a visa to move to Portugal, which was a bit of a challenge. I hope you enjoy the medley.

For a long time, I have felt that time is speeding up, certainly since the '80s. Initially, I thought it was due to a growing connectivity through technology. Email had only just been invented when I started working, the internet was basic, most businesses didn't have a website, mobile phones were new and the few business people who had one needed large muscles (or a trolley) to carry them around due to their size and weight. I was the proud owner of another new gadget, a fax machine.....

What do you see when you look in the mirror? This is a question I asked myself many times. For most of my life, I just saw a face. Yet, the old adage 'the eyes are the gateway to the soul' alludes to so much more. I am pleased to say, I can now see a very different image reflecting back at me. In an interview on UK Health Radio’s, 'The Great Awakening Show', I talked to host Joanne about what the current awakening of many in our world looks like to me, how I understand the divine feminine, the role women play in leadership based on my experience of working with women, how my book ‘The Ultimate Relationship’ came about and why I want to build a self-sufficient, sustainable (in more sense than one) community in Ireland. On the house front, there's been more decorating - this time the rear sitting room which is the most spectacular room in the house and certainly worthy of a lick of paint. It isn't my favourite job (not even close) and, as usual, I completely underestimated how much work was involved until I started taping up two recessed doors, a recessed window, a fireplace recess and a ceiling full of beams, nightmare!....

It's so easy to lose your mojo, as life pulls and pushes you every which way, on a daily basis. In fact, moments of of equilibrium are generally the exception rather than the rule, for most of us. And once things start to go wrong, life can escalate in the blink of any eye. Regaining equilibrium is an art form....

Just like nature, we have the potential to change ourselves moment by moment, moving through a kaleidoscope of infinite variety in our nature and our being. We are magnificent, like the sunset. But mostly, we have no idea of our magnificence because our thoughts, beliefs and actions, as well as the people and events around us, tell us otherwise...

I take my safety seriously, especially when travelling. It's not a lottery. I am responsible for me. I have had my fair share of accidents in the past - in cars, on horses and in a variety of other situations, which have prompted a radically different way of thinking and behaving. I have been reviewing some old writings recently, which included insights and epiphanies that helped me to deal with the challenges I faced during a fast-moving period of my life. I thought I might write a book (this book, as it turns out). But maybe my interest in the past was also a little to do with approaching a big birthday. Whilst 'age' is not an institution I subscribe to (as I plan to live to an unconventionally old age, in mint condition), I am aware that I am entering a new phase of my life, which begged the question, 'Who am I?'. I have learned from personal experience (and also from studying metaphysics) that when you use the power of focused thought, and energise it with feeling, what you want to create becomes a reality in your future. Provided you remain balanced (which allows for connection to your instinct), synchronicity will guide you to it. But what often happens it that we block the process by being impatient. We doubt it will happen because we don't see the evidence.
