In a central London boarding house, an ominous letter lay undisturbed on a hallway floor. The envelope was sealed but unmarked and no address was written upon it.

The mysterious letter was discovered, opened and read aloud to the occupants of the house but what it contained confused the residents. A week or so earlier, their landlady had gone missing and it seemed the letter held the key to working out where she was, however, did the letter actually come from outside the building or was it perhaps placed there by someone living in the home.
