In Yonkers, police say a distraught man jumped off the roof of an apartment building, landing on another man 12 stories below, and killing both of them.

And the House has approved legislation to fund the government, suspend it's borrowing limit and provide federal disaster and refugee aid. And Pfizer says its COVID vaccine works for children ages 5-11. The vaccine maker said it plans to seek authorization for this age group soon in the U.S, Britain, and Europe- a key step towards beginning vaccinations for youngsters.

On The Update this Friday, the Rikers Island jail complex has been troubled by years of neglect, and now had spiraled into turmoil during the pandemic. One jail watchdog calls it "a complete breakdown in the operation of the jails." This week, hundreds of birds migrating through New York City have died after crashing into the city's glass towers. It was particularly high, but bird strikes into Manhattan skyscrapers are a persistent problem. And the White House is warning state and local governments about severe cuts to disaster relief, Medicaid, inferstructure grants, school funding, and other programs if Congress fails to raise the U.S debt limit.

On The Update this Tuesday, big brother is now watching all across the MTA. All 472 subway stations are now equipped with security cameras. The MTA announced that it had installed the last of thousands of cameras at the Broadway station on the G line.
