WE HAVE TO MAKE THE CHOICE TO START HEALING. Traumas come into people's lives and dramatically affect the future. Some are even unthinkable. The challenges that stem from childhood traumas are particularly scarring. Especially when the person inflicting such terrible trauma is someone you know and you have to see every day. But the night is darkest just before the dawn. In Episode 18, and through her writing, Nancy Legere offers us a rare and courageous glimpse into the devastating and complex nature of traumatic injury from childhood sexual abuse and all of its associated symptoms. We witness first-hand how our survival instincts can help us live through the unlivable and then cope with the aftermath. We are reminded of the power of meaningful connection in bringing healing, purpose and possibility into our lives. And perhaps, most importantly, we are shown by vivid example that it is possible to heal from trauma.
