Every Tuesday since June, we have brought you co-hosts from all walks of life: Ambassadors, Members of Parliament, social justice Activists, Entrepreneurs, Academics, Stalwarts, CEOs, Journalists, Actors, Theologians, Doctors, Playwrights and many well-known South Africans. At first, the purpose of the new feature was to provide a platform that would bring forward the issues that are foremost to the minds of young South Africans.

He also touched on the plight of poverty and inequality in the country. Let us look back at his interview on gender equality with Dr Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka of United Nations Women. • #HealthOnMonday: Bone Marrow Stem Cells
Today we turn our attention to bone marrow transplants – we often have conversations about organs donations and blood donations, but we seldom look at the bone marrow. Do we know all there is to know about it and do we understand what a person who needs a transplant needs?

A few weeks ago, South Africa reached a milestone when the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR) received the nod from its Clinical Governance Committee and board members, as well as the National Health Department to allow 16 and 17-year-old teens to become bone marrow stem cell donors.

  • Reconciliation Day: the unintended consequences of aspirational holidays
As the Day of Reconciliation comes to a close, we look at the impact of the decision to take reconciliation as a value and form it as the basis of building a new society. Many young people argue that we traded reconciliation & freedom in the short-term in the hopes of long-term justice. Unfortunately, three decades later, we are starting to see that justice may never it. There is a collective trauma and reproductive violence that we have not addressed, as a nation.
