I wasn't planning on doing a commentary show this week as I am still going to read some stories and poetry today. I recorded this last Monday because events in the news over the weekend just put me a little over the top and I needed to talk about some of it for my own sanity.

Join me again for another visit with world news as I talk about Donald Trump a little and the latest United States hubris in their thinking that they can take on the Russian military in Ukraine. Even though I recorded this earlier in the week, I am sure there has been some more breaking news since then. I can't keep up and I am not even going to try.

To wrap things up, I read you another chapter of Michael Campi's The Priest to help people envision what the collapse of the United States will look like someday.

I hope my thoughts stop people and give them a little pause in their lives as we watch these stupid politicians, we elected edge us ever closer to World War Three.

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

I am back again the week after the U.S. elections to offer some insight on the news from around the world. This week, it's mostly about Donald J. Trump, his choices, so far, of cabinet and administration picks.

No one truly knows what Trump is going to do but his choices give us a pretty good idea of what's coming for the people of the U.S. and the world. Especially immigrants. Illegal and otherwise. If Trump follows through on his campaign promises, free speech like this may become a thing of the past. I plan to keep at it until I am stopped.

With that in mind, I am offering a link to my substack page where these podcasts are also posted. https://substack.com/@terrancedomhnaill

I am not worried about censorship here on RSS.com but it pays to be careful these days.

Welcome to The Village Oak Tree Stories and Poetry

I am Terrance Ó Domhnaill, your village scéalaí, back with more stories and poems from authors around the world.

In this first show of the Celtic New Year, I have four stories and one poem for everyone.

I continue with The Grave Diggers of Orpheus chapter 11, three other space faring stories from Substack writers and a poem about the Fae in Bulgaria from a Medium writer.

Some more notes about this show as we head into the new year. Starting today, this show will now be found under The Village Oak Tree heading on any mobile podcasts. Crann na beatha Stories and Poetry as a standalone title is no more. I will leave the old episodes up until next July, then they will all be archived for good. Something else I wish to add. I will only be posting one podcast a week from now on. I will read stories and poems every other week on Wednesdays instead of every week on Fridays. I have other projects I need to attend to this year and I need more of my time to pursue them. Thank you for understanding.

So gather round once more and let me read to you under the shade of the crann na beatha, the tree of life.

Welcome to The Village Oak Tree for October 30th.

I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. Thank you for spending a little time with me again this week.

I have more news stories that may get someone's attention a little this week. This week, I have stories from Europe, the U.S. and Iceland.

I have a couple of climate change news stories that we should pay attention to, some stories about western Europe with regard to the war in Ukraine, and I want to talk a little bit about the upcoming U.S. elections next week.

To wrap things up, I have another chapter from The Priest to read to you. More of Michael Campi's dystopian future story about what the collapse of the United States would look like from a first person perspective.

This week, I review some more news stories from around the world to highlight more dysfunctional politics and war mongering from the U.S.

I have several stories about corruption and how the government isn't helping its people. Sending all of its money overseas instead of helping out the hurricane victims.

I have a lot to say about Israel and Ukraine today so come listen to what I have found and then stay tuned while I read a political essay on the state of the U.S. elections and what the people actually want instead of what is being offered.

Then I wrap the show up with another chapter of The Priest.

Warning, the essay and story have adult language in them so I am restricting this episode.

Welcome to The Village Oak Tree for October 16th.

I am your host, Terrance Ó Domhnaill. I thank you for joining me.

I thought I was going to have an interview with a former Oklahoma politician, but he ghosted me so, it's just me this week.

I have a bunch of offbeat new stories that I have collected over the last week from non-mainstream news sources that tell us about a little different take on what the American mainstream news media is telling everyone.

The majority of which are about the wars in the middle east and Ukraine and the west's involvement one way or another. I also have a segment on how the U.S. government is not helping so much with the people struggling to pick up the pieces of their lives after hurricane Helene a couple of weeks ago.

I wrap up the show with chapter 13 of The Priest to continue to bring what a post-apocalyptic world will look like in the U.S. someday.

  • Interview with Steve Brigham - Author of It's Never Been a Level Playing Field

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

I bring you my interview with noted author, Steve Brigham, who wrote a book about the systematic racism prevalent throughout American society. He has served as a community engagement consultant with clients across the country, been married to an African American woman and has biracial children.

This book is a call to action to address this systematic issue ingrained in North American culture and try to bring about change.

I encourage anyone wishing to get involved to read his book and see where you can help.

I have another commentary for listeners. This time, I talk about climate change related large storms, like what is happening around the world right now, and how it is, according to climate scientists, is caused by excessive use of fossil fuels.

I relate some history of the fossil fuel industry and how things got started, and delve into how the current war in the middle east could cause the world to shut down if Iran shuts off the Straits of Hormuz.

I offer a lot to think about given what is going on right now. After the break, I read another chapter from The Priest, a dystopian future serialized story I have been closing these editorials with recently. A realistic look at one man's journey in the U.S. after everything collapses.

This is more of what the future of this podcast is going to look like. The interviews are nearly finished, with one more coming next Wednesday. Starting in November, I will be combining two podcasts under one name, The Village Oak Tree to try and offer myself a better work life balance. We'll see how that works out.

This week for my normal Wednesday broadcast, I have ASM Esquire. whom I interviewed last March about his previous book about debunking the bible and other religious books.

Today, we talk about his new book of poems, Love Poems for Men, and segway into politics and how that is affecting his viewpoint and his community. He is of Syrian descent, so his community is part of the Arab diaspora in the U.S.

I invite anyone to listen to this and see if anything we talk about resonates with you and your community.

Got something to say to this podcast? Send a voicemail, and you might hear yourself on the next episode!

This is another special edition where I recorded another conversation with my friend Mitch, who lives in Florida. The point of our lengthy conversation is to discuss the things that matter to us on a personal level that effect all of us one way or another. Whether it is climate change (we talk about hurricane Helene that just went through) the wars in the middle east, especially the recent events in Lebanon, and how all of these things affect our daily lives or may impact our immediate future, such as the real possibility of the renewal of the draft in the U.S., based on a TikTok video he shared with me.

Watch the video and see if anything stands out for you and your community wherever you live in the world.
