HAVE I BEEN THROUGH TOO MUCH HARDSHIP TO TRY AGAIN?

• We see someone who IS being brave, but they have no idea or are terrified of it. 
• Usually, you can see your own bravery when you've broken through the hardship.
• I consider it sacred when people share or put themselves out there with me. That is a sacred space.
• Make the choice to keep going.
• We are always managing expectations of the people around us. 
• Owning up to your own insecurities can give you the courage to dig deeper in your interviews.
• If you're putting yourself out there + exchanging money, beware the tie to your value!

 

"You can surprise yourself with your own bravery if you're not aware you've been building it over time." -Emily   I FEEL LIKE I HAVE A MESSAGE, BUT I FEEL A BLOCK ON ACTUALLY STARTING A SHOW:

• Ignore the stress + pressure of being 'new + noteworthy'.
• A podcast is an audio blog.
• The fruit is at the end of the harvest.
• You have to be very consistent at an expected amount of time.
• It's more important that you're consistent than your launch being 'successful'.
• Go + launch -- it's okay to launch with just 1 episode!
• Think of it like 100 tiny micro-launches!
• Remember, you never know who's listening

"You have to be in it for a committed amount of time before you start seeing results." -Emily

  HOW DO YOU MAKE YOUR SHOW IMPACTFUL?

• At the end of every interview, I ask: "Who do you think I should interview next?" - that has brought me such incredible guests!
• RESONATE BRAVERY: An outsider thinks someone is brave + therefore is inspired to be brave in their own circumstances.
• Set your intention that there is one person out there that is going to get hope, inspiration or motivation from your episode.
• I love to imagine a guest in the room with me + my interviewee...having that third person present makes it more intimate for my listeners.

  HOW DOES HAVING A PODCAST EFFECT YOUR BUSINESS?

• If you approach the right people for your show, they will say yes!

• An added benefit of having a podcast is the added exposure.

• It connects you with fellow entrepreneurs + grows your audience.

• Launching a fb group for listeners blew me out of the water!

• Pitching yourself or trying to get guests on your show with lame copy + pasted verbage
• "Being a podcaster means not being selfish." - Angie Lee
• It's about who you know + networking
• Introduce yourself through mutual connections
• Speak their language, are they all about Fun? Stats? Education?
• You never know whether or not someone's show is going to blow up!
• Be different. Give a little extra time. Stick out in someone's memory!

• Don't pitch yourself if you haven't crystallized your valuable offer
• Build your legitimate company + message so you have a ton to offer on a show

• Cater your show to your specific personality

• What are your strengths? Utilize those to book your guests.

• Your teaching for 5 days continuously, so don't overwhelm your audience!

• Break it down into 1 simple action step
• You want them to feel enthusiastic + excited that they accomplished something!
• If it's too much, they won't finish
• Stand in your power of providing great content in a simple way with solutions
• Take them on a journey
• Don't overfeed the chickens!!

 

SCHEDULING YOUR LIVES:

• Think about your audience - when is it easiest for them to come hang out with you live?
• What time zone are they in?
• Poll them - let them decide!
• Daily - teach for 10-15 min max
• Keep it simple, sweet + short
• Q+A for 10-15 min
• Sprinkle in questions throughout so there's no delay at the end
