  • Throwback Episode: Ink Therapist ft. Charlot
Don't have a new podcast episode this week, so I decided to dig the archives and post an episode I did with tattoo artist Charlot back in October 2020. Later this week I will be going to finish my pineapple pizza tattoo with her in OC. Handful of people reached out to me on the last episode and it was appreciated! I give an update on my mental health status & recent urge to yesterday. Shout out to my sponsor for talking me out of it!
The ABG hustler aka Ink Therapist Charlot. I met her through social media and we instantly connected through our mutual love & passion for tattoos. Charlot shares her upbringing, passion for art & shares her journey as a tattoo artist. The ups and downs, lessons learned and the importance of pursuing what you love to do (while exercising patience). We also discuss what a great time it is for Asian Americans to pursue their creative endeavors & turn it into careers & more!

  • Ep. 168 The Journey So Far Part III
Today is a solo episode talking about my experience with Post Acute Withdrawl Syndrome.
According to UCLA's Semel Institute for Neuroscience & Behavior:
"Post-Acute-Withdrawal Syndrome (PAWS) refers to a set of impairments that can persist for weeks or months after the abstaining from a substance of abuse. PAWS may also be referred to as post-withdrawal syndrome, prolonged withdrawal syndrome, or protracted withdrawal syndrome. The condition is marked by symptoms similar to those found in mood disorders and anxiety disorders, including mood swings, insomnia, and increased levels of anxiety even without any apparent stimulus"
As I have mentioned in previous episodes, Recovery isn't all sunshine and rainbows. Most days I feel apathetic. Not happy, not sad but somewhere in the middle. I have come to accept this feeling. Regardless I still feel grateful. I talk about the perks I have experienced with recovery. I rant about having a bad morning right before recording this episode, my ADHD, how my addiction has manifested into other parts of my life & more. I also walkthrough how I was triggered to use yesterday due to the smell of alcohol: what went through my mind, how i glamorized it & how I talked myself out of it- something I was unable to do before working a program. Have a good day everyone!
