16 year old Ánh, a second generation Vietnamese American is more interested in fitting in with her friends and being a normal American teenager. Her parents who are Vietnamese refugees try to raise her to appreciate their traditional roots and values. Ánh is just trying to figure out who she is. Along the way, she learns that her identity comes with racism and discrimination, which can turn into bigger issues. It’s a coming-of-age story that puts the spotlight on different social issues the Asian community faces, such as deportation of undocumented immigrants / refugees and encourages the idea that anyone, no matter how small or young, has a voice on these matters.

Matua is an musician from Washington / San Jose with Guam roots. With his new album "reprogramming the dysfunctional heart of a stupid cry baby" dropping, figured it would be a great time to talk to him about his writing process, musical influences (amazing bands and lots of emo talk) & background behind his album.

An individual who has been around sex work most of her life reached out to me and wanted to share her story. This weeks guest asked to remain anonymous so I altered her voice & address them as Amy during the conversation.
This week's episode, Amy shares with us her unique arrangement as a sugar baby, dating in the porn industry, attending fetish parties, being an exotic dancer & doing nude modeling. Due to the pandemic, she raises awareness of the vulnerability some sex workers face along with resources and support groups for women and sex workers.

On this episode, I chopped up our conversation and later added some narration for context.
Admittedly, it came out a bit rough but I'm hoping to improve my editing and narrating skills over time.
Thank you Amy for choosing this platform to share your story.

On this episode I had a conversation with rapper, singer and actor Alan Z. We talked how he got into pursuing these paths and the importance of being multi-talented in the industry.
We also spoke about misconceptions of getting signed to a label, experiences as an Asian-American rapper, impact Jin had on us, coping with the pandemic, food in Atlanta and more.
Also be sure to check out his latest single “FWM” feat. Rocky Sandoval!
