Listen to this: In a breaking new report, scientists say ultra-processed foods, like, sodas, chips, candy, & donuts are addictive and dangerous and should be treated like drugs! Scientists say highly processed foods are just as addictive and harmful as CIGARETTES. (So is sitting.)

Heavily processed foods cause compulsive use and mind altering effects on the brain. They reinforce addiction and trigger cravings.

In this episode, I address some crazy topics, like:
• chemicals in our food and the damage they’re doing, not to mention, the struggle to lose weight
• the importance of gut health and how it affects our brain health
• diet soda and weight gain
• sugar in Starbucks drinks & fast food sides
• and more!

I also share some hope and inspiration from God’s Word and practical solutions to take our health back, God’s way and in His grace.

Does this ever happen to you? You wake up ready to go and eat like the Champ you are in Christ. You practice self-control, drink adequate water, get your steps in for the day, and even, get a workout in.

But then… the evening comes, you finally have a moment to relax, and the first thing on your mind is a good movie and that ice cream in the freezer or chips in the cabinet. Before you know it, the container of Breyer’s is gone and that bag of chips has nothing left but a few crumbs. How did this happen, again?

Fit sister, it’s a true story for a lot of us. But, it doesn’t have to be this way. We CAN create NEW habits and overcome this downward spiral of extra calories and empty cravings. Jesus alone satisfies!

I have a very, very, VERY special guest on the show today: my friend and hero of the faith - Pastor Matthew Barnett, founder and senior pastor of the LA Dream Center and Angelus Temple in Los Angeles, California!

Tim and I have had the blessing and honor of taking my Jesus-centered FitCamp workouts to the ladies of the Discipleship program and serving together at the Dream Center since 2018. This last week, we took our family, best friends, pastor, and some amazing members of our church family for a week of short-term missions.  What God did was absolutely amazing beyond words!

In this episode, Pastor Matthew shares his vision and heart for the Dream Center and the hope and restoration that it provides through incredible compassion in the Name of Jesus. It’s truly a place like no other!

The Dream Center serves as a resource center focused on providing support to those affected by homelessness, hunger, and the lack of education through residential and community outreach programs.

Today, I have a super guest on the show: my hubby, Tim.

In this episode, we’re keeping it real and sharing some major struggles and trials and some God-sized wins, too, over the past 29 years.  We’re a living testimony to the power of Jesus at work in two broken people and a desperate marriage. He alone has made ALL the difference in our lives and our family’s! He is a REDEEMING, FAITHFUL, VERY-PRESENT GOD! Amen?!

After sharing one of the hardest time in our lives and our marriage, we talk about practical actions that have helped us work toward a healthy, God-honoring marriage. It’s a journey, not a destination.

Tim and I have served together as youth pastors and business owners throughout our marriage. Despite unwavering obstacles and challenges, and by GOD’S GRACE, we’ve been gym owners for the last 13 years and built a Jesus-centered fitness ministry and business. And, we’re STILL believing for the Lord’s GREATER: reaching more and more people with the message of healing and wholeness through fitness and health, God’s way. Our greatest blessings, though, are found in our family and watching our three adult children love and serve the Lord!

We pray this episode deeply encourages you in your marriage, relationships, and calling. You’re never too far gone where Jesus can’t make a way, pull you out, and turn your shame into glory. It’s for Him and His love and glory that He heals and rewrites our stories.
