Justice

God is a God of justice.

The Biblical view of justice is multilayered. Justice includes perpetrators of injustice being held accountable, and the vulnerable and marginalized being comforted, cared for and restored.

In other words, Biblical justice involves standing up to the bully and comforting the broken.

Beauty

Our world is a beautiful place.

We have all had moments of being swept up into the awe-inspiring majesty of creation, whether it be the show-stopping grandeur of a mountain peak, or the stunning display of stars on a clear night.

Even in the midst of pervasive brokenness, beauty acts as a signpost directing our gaze toward the goodness of the Creator and the nature of His coming Kingdom.

Grief

Grief. We feel it everywhere. We hear it everywhere. Some might say it is the dominant note of this season. And what we need is a story that makes sense of our grief; a story that doesn’t dismiss our sorrow but, rather, helps us move through it with a measure of joy, providing the strength we need to keep going. On Sunday we were reminded that there is such a story; a story about a Someone who not only helps us understand our grief, but meets us in the middle of it, giving us hope, healing and new life!

All Things New: Introduction

Vision is a picture of the future that provides priorities, passion and perseverance in the present. Sunday’s message explored the Bible’s vision of a new heavens and new earth. We were introduced to the big story of scripture and our church’s place in it.
