The release of the trailer for Space Jam 2 prompts the guys into an out-of-this-world discussion (get it?) about the original film, LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan, and what to expect from the new movie. The conversation marks the interesting intersection of sports, entertainment, fame, legacy and Daffy Duck.

First up is a review discussion of the 1996 classic and it’s admirably ridiculous premise. Why not throw the Looney Tunes and Michael Jordan into an intergalactic basketball game? In case you haven’t seen it or forgot what happens, Ben just recites the whole plot which is (almost) as fun as actually watching it.

But since conflict makes everything better, Ben and Phil break down the LeBron vs. MJ debate and compare their careers, both on and off the court. Who is the “greater” athlete? How do you even define greatness? Is LeBron starring in Space Jam 2 a respectful tribute to MJ or a desire to one-up the legend and forge his own path? One of the hosts is a LeBron stan, which may or may not be blatantly obvious from the beginning.

Finally, they go over what to expect with the new movie, which drops in July. A star-studded supporting cast, including Zendaya and Don Cheadle may offer a lot to be excited about, but what else do we know? Does it have the potential to be better than the original??

Phil handles this week’s WAYWA, dishing out some high praise for Oscar-nominated feature Promising Young Woman. But is it better than its competitor Nomadland? Tune in for the only correct opinion on the matter.

Are you ready for an epic journey of a lifetime? This week begins a monthly series of the guys talking about EVERY SINGLE Pixar movie, starting in chronological order!

In anticipation of the newest Pixar release coming in June, Ben and Phil will get into detail about each of the studio’s installments, starting all the way back at Toy Story. They’ll use their familiar format of picking an element or aspect that exemplifies the films and go to town. You’ll probably learn something along the way. The guys definitely did. (Was A Bug’s Life the best Mafia movie ever made? It’s up for debate.)

On this episode, they go through the “Golden Era” which includes the first six films: The nostalgia of Toy Story, the novelty of A Bug’s Life, the heart of Toy Story 2, the world-building of Monsters Inc., the scariness of Finding Nemo and the, well, incredible-ness of The Incredibles. A misinterpreted joke nearly turns violent and likewise nearly turns the show into the “I (Don’t) Watch Everything Podcast.” Brace yourself.

Then, this week’s WAYWA features Ben going hard for what he describes as “The best movie he’s ever seen.” And he watched it less than 24 hours ago. And it involves John Boyega fighting aliens with a Samauri sword. We can’t make any of this up. You’ll just have to watch Attack the Block for yourself. You’ll never be the same.

This week, the guys review some of the hottest content to come out in recent days. It’s Oscars season, so Phil and Ben take a deep dive into Best Picture front runner Nomadland. They both contemplate what it would be like to live in a van for years. The only downside seems to be the fact that making the podcast would be harder.

Then, it’s on to the top commodities in the world of superheroes! Phil gives his take on the famed Snyder Cut of Justice League. Is 4 hours too long for a movie? Not if you watch it twice!! They also get into Marvel’s latest offering, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and talk about how fun it is to watch superheroes trying to get bank loans. This conversation goes about as well as you would guess.

Finally, they talk for way too long about Netflix’s newest season of Last Chance U and break down why following a basketball team makes for a much better show than following a football team. How many times did Phil and Ben cry over the course of the season? Tune in to find out.

Get ready for a deep dive into all things “Lord of the Rings!” Ben and Phil dig into the never-ending treasure trove that is this epic fantasy franchise.
