France is committed to ensuring Africa develops capacity to begin manufacturing vaccines in the near future. This is according to French President, Emmanuel Macron who was speaking at the Union Buildings during his state visit on Friday. The end of May signals a Constitutional deadline for expropriation of land without compensation. The minority in opposition of expropriation of land without compensation argue that the land won't be used effectively. However, this is far from the truth according to those who work the land. Over the years we have witnessed a number of aspiring young Black farmers turn their backs on the city life for a life of farming. There are many challenges facing emerging farmers like breaking into the local mainstream and export markets. Emerging farmers rely on small scale farming of both crops and mixed range of livestock. Emerging Black farmers have organised themselves to fight for the benefit from government subsidies, land reform and acquisition programmes including skills transfer and provision of farming implements to reach a full fledged commercial trading status. Police Minister, Bheki Cele, has taken responsibility for the police's failure to protect the eight young men, who were burnt to death in an act of mob justice in the Zandspruit informal settlement, north west of Johannesburg. The group of men was attacked by over 200 community members on Wednesday for allegedly being behind a number of robberies in the area.
