In recent months former president Jacob Zuma has found himself having to be in and out of the country's courts for one reason or the other. Recently former president Zuma defied the highest court in the land to appear before the State Capture Commission, citing unfairness. He has also rejected a request by the same court to file an affidavit suggesting what sanction he should face if it finds him guilty of contempt for defying its order to testify before a panel that's probing graft during his tenure.. In other news Zuma suffered another court blow when the Supreme Court of Appeal in Bloemfontein dismissed his appeal against a judgment which ruled the state is not liable to cover his legal costs. The high court in Pretoria had found in December 2018 that the state was not liable for Zuma's legal costs incurred in his personal capacity and ordered that he pay back the money.
