AMCU president, Joseph Mathunjwa, says they are still waiting for President Cyril Ramaphosa to apologise to at least 78 seriously wounded mineworkers and widows of their 34 killed colleagues in August 2012. Ramaphosa, previously made a commitment to visit Marikana but he has not yet done so. Mathunjwa was speaking during an exclusive interview with SABC News, ahead of today's (Sunday) eighth anniversary of the Marikana tragedy in which a total of 44 people were killed.
