Credit Ombud, Manie van Schalkwyk has warned consumers to be carefully when acquiring credit following this year's double interest rate increase, inflation and a number of fuel hikes. Van Schalkwyk adds that consumers must be aware that although their needs will not deminish due to rising prices, these factors are likely to negatively impact the consumer's affordability assessment.
