The knockout stage of AFCON lived up to expectation with two riveting games last night. Nigeria bundled Cameroon out of the tournament after a 2-nil victory. Angola also proceed to the next round after defeating Nambia 3 -nil. Tonight Equatorial Guinea face Guinea while Egypt will go up against the DRC. Thousands of South Africans living abroad are this weekend registering to vote in the forthcoming national elections whose date is expected to be announced soon. The South African Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) this week revealed that 70 fuel stations across South Africa are selling diluted diesel to profit from the rising price of fuel. The diesel is allegedly mixed with illuminating paraffin. The 70 petrol stations accused of the alleged mixing were identified between April and December 2023. The International Court of Justice yesterday ordered Israel to take measures to prevent and punish direct incitement of genocide in the Gaza Strip. The ICJ ruled that it recognizes the Palestinians' right to be protected from acts of genocide. Delivering judgement at the Hague, Netherlands, I-C-J President, Joan Donoghue, said Israel must take immediate and effective measures to enable the provision of urgently needed basic services and humanitarian assistance in the Gaza Strip. South Africa dragged Israel to the World Court accusing it of allegedly committing genocide in Gaza.

We continue to get more reactions regarding yesterday's ruling by the International Court of Justice (ICJ), on the case brought by South Africa regarding the Gaza Strip War. The court ruled in favour of SA's request to impose emergency measures against Israel over its military operations in Gaza. The court ordered Israel to prevent acts of genocide against the Palestinians and do more to help civilians, as it wages war against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip. Price of chicken set to stabilize

The Association of Meat Importers and Exporters of Southern Africa - AMIE - has welcomed government's decision to apply rebates on boneless and bone-in chicken cuts, saying that the move will keep the price of chicken in check for consumers, especially for poor households, who are struggling to afford this vital source of protein. The decision, published yesterday by the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition provides a 30% rebate on boneless and 25% on bone-in cuts of imported chicken. To discuss this and its impacts on poor households we spoke to Paul Mathews, CEO of the Association of Meat Importers and Exporters of Southern Africa.

Hundreds of Israelis who signed a petition calling on the International Court of Justice (ICJ) to rule in favour of South Africa's lawsuit against the state of Israel are jubilant at the ICJ outcome. We spoke to Adam Keller.
