Tom Brady plans to play alongside current and former NFL stars in a three-team flag football tournament in Saudi Arabia next year, the seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and Fox Sports analyst said Monday.

The Fanatics Flag Football Classic on March 21 at Kingdom Arena in Riyadh also will include Saquon Barkley, CeeDee Lamb, Christian McCaffrey, Maxx Crosby and Rob Gronkowski, among others.

Las Vegas' Pete Carroll, Denver's Sean Payton and San Francisco's Kyle Shanahan will be the coaches.

Brady is partnering with Turki Alalshikh, chairman of the Saudi General Entertainment Authority, to promote the event. Fox Sports will televise the tournament, and comedian Kevin Hart will be the host.

"It's a multi-year commitment," said Brady, a minority owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. "Obviously, we're getting off to a good start. The first year will be kind of where everyone's attention and energy is at. It's the first time we've ever done something like this, but all the players that I've talked to are excited about playing. Obviously, with the Olympics coming up in 2028, I think it's all the NFL players' first exposure to it, and I didn't want to miss out on being a part of it."

Flag football will make its Olympic debut at the Los Angeles Games in three years. NFL players are expected to make up a large part of the American roster, but USA Football is looking beyond the nation’s most popular league as it searches for potential players.

Alalshikh, who attended Monday's news conference with Brady, already was in Las Vegas because he was among the promoters of Terence Crawford’s upset victory over Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night at Allegiant Stadium.

Former US Attorney Andy Luger says there is a new pattern of violent extremism that anyone with kids needs to hear.

After months of mass and school shootings and targeted murders in Minnesota and our country, many of us are asking two related questions: Why is this happening now, and what can we do about it? The number and pace of these murders seems to be increasing, and we need to know what has changed in the last few years.

Many mass murders, school shootings and targeted assassinations are committed by violent extremists, people who believe in violent means to achieve an ideological end. Whether they are white supremacists or al-Qaida style terrorists, they employ violence to further a societal goal.

As horrific as these violent ideologues are, there is something more concerning gathering steam in the extremist world that has law enforcement and private analysts deeply concerned — loosely based nonideological online subcultures that glorify mass murder and self-harm for its own sake, not for some larger goal. As civic, community and political leaders look for solutions to the current wave of violence, this new development requires close scrutiny and creative solutions.

I first learned about the radicalization of violent extremists in 2014. As U.S. attorney, I learned from experts how ISIS recruited young men in Minneapolis to become terrorists. I then learned about how domestic extremist groups used similar recruitment techniques to persuade the disillusioned to hate Jews, African Americans, Muslims and others.

Former NBA players Chauncey Billups — currently the Portland Trail Blazers' head coach — and Damon Jones were arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit both wire fraud and money laundering after allegedly participating in rigged poker games.

Billups and Jones were allegedly dubbed as "face cards" which, the indictment says, were "members of the Cheating Teams and received a portion of the criminal proceeds in exchange for their participation in the scheme." The scheme resulted in the victims losing at least $7.15 million, dating back to April 2019, according to the Department of Justice.

"Billups and Jones, in particular… were utilized to attract victims to the games because of their status as former professional athletes," the DOJ said.

As millions nationwide protested peacefully during the anti-Trump "No Kings" protests on Saturday, several now-viral social media clips have overshadowed the day's events. 

In Chicago, a woman whom social media users identified as a K-8 STEM teacher with the Chicago Public School system at Nathan Hale Elementary School in the city, was captured on video apparently mocking Charlie Kirk's assassination. 

The woman, wearing a gray shirt and holding a Mexican flag, can be seen standing in front of a line of protesters, yelling at a truck as it passed by. As the occupants of the truck displayed a pro-Kirk sign, the woman put her pointer and middle finger to her neck, pretending to pull a trigger and yelling, "Bang, bang."
