The Weekly Substandard Expanded Universe

The gout awareness podcast! Chris lives in a winter wonderland, Ryan tells of the latest adventures from the basketball court, the Swede ranks movies set in Texas, and everyone on the podcast has seen The Highwaymen. Well, most of it at least. As a bonus, the gang also gives their favorite movie from each year … Continue reading Episode 32: In the Heart of Texas

It's a first in the already tragically long SSEU Podcast history: this episode features a couple! Erica ranks reality TV shows, Rick mocks Erica's knowledge of movies, there's counting, inappropriate movie quotes, youth basketball, Jude Law, and much more!

Thomas has discovered the best movie of the year (so far) while he laments the quality of movies released in 2019 so far. Chris watches Inception during the podcast and Ryan has a different definition of a heist movie from the rest of us.

The guys are not alone on today's podcast! They're joined by the podcast's executive producer and poet-in-residence for two (2!) new poems. Our four hosts of the week also talk about Triple Frontier, high school sports, Skidmore's Quidditch team, and much more!

At least one of the hosts have been to see Captain Marvel and made sure to get two guest reviews. Thomas has never heard of a mud room (but praises kitchen couches) while Ryan is still recovering from the plague. This episode is very online.

International Women's Day, SXSW, Skyscraper, 2017 (ranked!), and a brief note on the ongoing Con Wars.

The podcast gets a holy guest from north of the border (where's that wall?) and have him rank movies. Thomas is happy that there's finally a priest on the podcast, Chris feels vindicated after the most recent Sub-Beacon episode, and Ryan is yelling about baseball.

Jason joins the crew to discuss the upcoming Munch Madness Bracket.

Ryan has been out with his neighbors, Chris wants to talk about favorite actors and lady actors, and Thomas brings the counting.

On this episode, the esteemed guest shares stories from family lore and discusses the conditions in the SSEU prison. Meanwhile, Ryan ordered something from Etsy and had an interesting customer service experience while Thomas is settling into Arizona.
