Bio: Suzanne Cope is a food writer, journalist, and lecturer at New York University. She has written about food and culture for a variety of publications, including the New York Times, The Atlantic, CNN, and BBC. Her work has focused on the intersection of food, politics, and social justice.
Cope's first book, Small Batch: Pickles, Cheese, Chocolate, Spirits and the Return of Artisanal Food, explored the rise of the artisanal food movement. Her latest book, Power Hungry: Women of the Black Panther Party and Freedom Summer and Their Fight to Feed a Movement, tells the story of how two women used food to fight for social change during the civil rights movement. Her next book is Women of War: The Italian Assassins, Spies, and Couriers Who Fought the Nazis - with exciting news to come soon!
Cope is a passionate advocate for using food to create a more just and equitable world. She believes that food can be a powerful tool for building community, promoting health, and challenging injustice. Her work is an inspiration to all who are committed to using food to make a difference.

Beth Dooley is a James Beard Award-winning food writer and columnist for the Taste section of the Minneapolis-St. Paul Star Tribune. She appears regularly on KARE 11 (NBC) television and MPR Appetites with Tom Crann.
Dooley co-authored The Sioux Chef's Indigenous Kitchen with Sean Sherman, winner of the James Beard Award for Best American Cookbook in 2018. Her other titles include:
Dooley is an Endowed Chair at the Minnesota Institute for Sustainable Agriculture (MISA). She is currently researching and writing her next book, The Perennial Kitchen: A Guide for Climate-Savvy Cooks. Bio: Dr Alessandra Pino is an expert on intersections of the Gothic, food, and cultural memory. Alessandra was born in Hampstead, London, to an Italian mother and Venezuelan diplomat father, and she grew up in several different countries. She holds a BA in English Literature from Naples ‘L’Orientale’; an MA in Translation Studies and a PhD in Food, Cultural Memory and the Gothic, from the University of Westminster. She worked with a Michelin-starred chef for nearly ten years before entering the world of dark academia. Alessandra is co-author of A Gothic Cookbook, which digs into food themes and motifs in a series of classic and contemporary novels from the 19th century to the present day and the co-host of Fear Feasts, a podcast which analyses the horror genre- films and books- through the lens of food.

I had the pleasure of owning and directing A la Carte Culinary Services, a hands-on recreational cooking school in Lynbrook, NY, for 21 years. Now that the school is closed, I'm still working to keep you cooking!
I'm a Certified Culinary Professional with a degree in Home Economics, concentrating in foods and nutrition, from Otterbein College.
My background includes food styling, restaurant management, corporate and editorial test kitchen work, product development and culinary education. I've studied cooking in France, Italy, Spain, Thailand, Morocco, Argentina, New York, and anywhere else I've been!
I'm a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals and the New York Women’s Culinary Alliance.
I serve as a Past President on the Board of Directors of the Lynbrook Chamber of Commerce and am an on-camera person for Lynbrook TV.

I ran a wood-fired market bakery, Smoke Signals, from 2011 to 2018, in Asheville, North Carolina, while also learning about fresh flour at Carolina Ground.
