Celia Sack was born and raised in San Francisco. During her seven-year tenure at Pacific Book Auction, Sack channeled her passion for rare books into a private antiquarian cookbook collection, and then into a bookshop. Since November 2008, when she opened Omnivore Books on Food in Noe Valley, Sack has gotten to know Alice Waters' tastes (books on victory gardens, not surprisingly), has enticed Ruth Reichl into buying a first edition of A.J. Liebling's Between Meals, and has seen her store become the destination for internationally known food writers touring their new books.

In 1999, she opened Noe Valley Pet Company with her partner, Paula, and in 2008, she opened Omnivore Books on Food, San Francisco’s only culinary bookshop. Featuring new and antiquarian titles, her store has become the destination for internationally known food writers touring their new books, and for collectors expanding their shelves.

Emily Winston Bio (From the website)
Hi, I'm Emily. Growing up in suburban NJ, there were plenty of good bagels around. But when my father had business take him to the Upper West Side, he would stop by Zabar's for lox, sable, whitefish, and chive cream cheese, and H&H for bagels, which we would have as a special treat. These bagels were on a whole different level of unique deliciousness. After moving away, I would look forward to possibly having them when visiting home. And then one day I learned that they had gone out of business, and was deeply upset. I took this news like the death of a loved one I just hadn't been in contact with in a long time, and grieved, and said I didn't want to let those bagels cease to exist. And so I embarked on what became my five year quest, through trial and error, to create a bagel I longed to eat.

Cenk Sönmezsoy (pronounced jenk sun-mass-soy) is an author, blogger, photographer, and food stylist based in Istanbul. After graduating from college, he moved to San Francisco, where he earned an MBA from the University of San Francisco and worked at a high-tech PR agency.
On realizing that he’d rather eat glass than sit through another client conference call discussing another “groundbreaking” product, he returned to Istanbul. There, in 2006, he started a food blog that grew bigger and faster than he ever could have imagined. Published both in English and Turkish, Cafe Fernando (cafefernando.com) has been cited as one of the “World’s 50 Best Food Blogs” by The Times of London. Saveur named it “Best Culinary Travel Blog” in 2010, and the following year awarded the brownies he designed for Dolce & Gabbana “Best Original Baking and Desserts Recipe.”
In 2012, Saveur called the piece Cenk wrote about his dining experience at Chez Panisse the year’s “Best Piece of Culinary Writing.” He ditched the corporate world in 2010 and began work on his first cookbook. His Turkish cookbook, "Cafe Fernando–Bir pasta yaptım, yanağını dayar uyursun", published in June 2014, became an instant bestseller and was awarded “Best in the World—First Place” in the Blogger category at the 2015 Gourmand World Cookbook Awards and first place at Gourmand’s “Best of the Best.” The English-language version of his book, "The Artful Baker: Extraordinary Recipes From an Obsessive Home Baker", was published by Abrams on October 17, 2017.

. Joanne Weir is a James Beard Award-winning cookbook author, international cooking teacher, restaurateur and renowned chef. Joanne's passion for cooking was stoked by a legacy of life in the kitchen. A fourth-generation professional chef, Joanne's great-grandmother operated a restaurant in Boston at the turn of the century called Pilgrim's Pantry. This enthusiasm for food was passed down to her grandfather and then to her mother, a professional chef and caterer who worked with the legendary cookbook author, Charlotte Turgeon. Joanne continues that same tradition. After receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Joanne went on to teach Fine Arts in Boston. She then found her way back to the kitchen.
Joanne spent five years cooking with Alice Waters at Chez Panisse in Berkeley, California and studied with Madeleine Kamman in France, where she was awarded a Master Chef Diploma with honors. Her ultimate calling is teaching others to cook in the United States and throughout the world -- Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, UK, South America, Mexico and Canada. In 2013, Joanne won the Tour Operator of the Year Award from the International Association of
Culinary Professionals for her highly acclaimed Culinary Journeys. She spends several months of the year touring the globe sharing her extensive cooking background with regard to nutrition, food theory and technique, in particular Mediterranean cuisine and the regional foods of the U.S. Joanne has a twenty-five-year history as a host for her cooking shows, which air nationally on Public Television and CreateTV. In her award-winning television series, Joanne Weir's Cooking Class and Joanne Weir Gets Fresh, Joanne's love of teaching students how to cook is shared with a national TV audience. Her current television series, “Joanne Weir Plates and Places” won Best New Series from Taste Awards in 2019. Fifty-two new episodes feature segments filmed throughout the Mediterranean, the Rhine and Danube Rivers, Washington and California, as well as in her kitchen studio in San Francisco.
Joanne’s talents were brought to life in the PBS series "Weir Cooking in the Wine Country," shot on location in Napa Valley. Her companion book, Weir's More Cooking in the Wine Country (Simon & Schuster, 2001) garnered a James Beard Award nomination and an IACP Cookbook Award nomination. Joanne's adopted hometown, San Francisco, is the culinary setting for "Weir Cooking in the City," her 26-part PBS series and companion book (Simon & Schuster, 2004) for which she received a James Beard Award. She is also the author of Wine Country Cooking (Ten Speed Press, 2008), Tequila: A Guide to Types, Flights, Cocktails and Bites (Ten Speed Press, 2009), and Cooking Confidence (Taunton, 2012).
